This is a flash Synthesizer toy made with flash and Garageband. Instructions are in the flash. Use your keyboard only. Made by me and my friend.

"Outstanding!"

An impressive piece of computer programming. Though it is a start, it is certainly a great idea for development.
I have an idea for improving you design. Some vodocorders have these two controls that control pitch and modulation. Generally a couple of dial controls of a joystick manipulate these controls. Why not use up and down arrow keys to control pitch and left and right arrow keys to control the modulation? It would create some interesting sound effects.

"Not bad"

date: March 21, 2007

Well this was a cool little gimmicky interactive flash but really i had no use for it and wasn't able to play anything because quite frankly i didn't know how to. I think to improve this your going to need to give us a few sheets of music that we can try with the keys, also some solid beats in the background would both bring up the energy levels and make whatever the user inputs sound better. Overall it was a solid synthesizer that was just missing an edge over the others.

That sounds like a great idea. Perhaps I could sort of integrate DDR in with this?

"its alright"

it could be a lot better. for one, some people might want to use their mouse. other ppl may not read your notes so instructions on the play area might help. also some animations or some way to save the music would be awesome

"Not bad, but it needs more functionality."

date: March 13, 2007

It's not a bad beta, but it needs more functionality, and some tweaks:

Start the C note on the A key, not the S.
Allow for recording and saving the playback.
Allow for a note to be held down, instead of popping in and out.
Different instriment sets would be nice. (Pipe organ, grand piano, harpischord, whatever, etcetera)

"A very bad synthesizer"

by: Calipe

This synthesizer is useless, you cannot edit the sounds, and only have 2 octaves to play with. Also I couldn't get my M-Audio 49e keystation MIDI/USB keyboard to play the synthesizer.
Probably since I have a Home Studio at my house, that is why I am used to $500+ synthesizers, and professional software...but even for a person starting this synthesizer would be useless.
Consider allowing for parameter editing, and more octaves, also MIDI compatibility.

Author's Response:

It's a flash movie. Does all that really matter?
