EDIT: Thanks for frontpage and to all those who voted more than a 3!

v2.0 is in the works! It's going to be pretty sweet, including many different sounds. You will be able to select which instruments you want to use from different sound libraries. The sound speed will now be controlled by BPM. There will also be a much improved portal. I am also working hard to make it as lag-free as possible.

Hello. BeatBox lets you create and share beats, and then submit them to a portal where others can listen to and rate them! Includes a top list with the best scoring beats.

I'm not sure how this is going to work on NG - we'll see! Just a beta test. If the beta test works out fine I won't submit a final.

If you have suggestions for features or new instruments, please leave a review! Also report any bugs please.

It's awesome, but there are some points I have to tell you. If you update the game, add these things:

1.)Please make the beat better, sometimes it's rushed and sometimes it's too slow, even though the speed is the same.

2.)Please make a login screen. People can vote on their own submissions. Also, this could help people keep track of their own submissions.

3.)Sometimes the game freezes when there is only one item on the screen to be played (it repeats over and over), so the song should stop after one time of being played.

4.)One out of every 4 lines on the chart should be a dark line, instead of the current setup of 4,4,5. It sometimes gets confusing.

5.)If you want, you can make more sounds (ex: drums) or make multiple sound sets.

Other than that, I like it.

Thanks for the review!

1) That's lag . Sorry.

2)You can track your submissions by clicking "My Songs" in the portal. I don't see a need for this

3) Really... It doesn't for me. I'll look into it

4) I explained the situation in a response to an earlier review.

5) That's actually a really good idea. I'll see.

Thanks again :)

I love....I'm taking a lot of my time to make songs which are suprisingly getting rated well. I don wish you would add more instruments though, like a piano and electric guitar. That, and I wish there was a way to save your own song and submit it to the REAL portal.

jonanin responds:

Thanks :) I might be adding one or two more instruments, and taking out ones that aren't needed. I want to keep as few instruments as possible to keep lag and load time down to a minimum.

its a good idea

You have a lot of things sounds to choose and a lot of potential in this game, but the bars seem uneven when played (and for a start the first bar has 2 beats, and the next one has 5 before you get a constant 4 beats per bar thing. The tempo always seemed slow, so it might be a good idea to add an actual tempo adjustor, ranging from say 0-250 BPM (remember 60 BPM is one beat per second if that would help) and then make the soudns seem a bit less forced, it could be very good though, i'm looking forward to the final version.

jonanin responds:

Thanks for the suggestions and comments. I understand about the measures thing -- I didn't actually put in frames, the thicker lines are because the boxes alignment isn't perfect - which is really hard to fix. I've got more than one suggestions for BPM speed instead of just a number - I'll probably be putting that in.

Front Page

You designed this and made a newgrounds type portal to review and make songs. Bro, this is a beautiful thing. What a great concept...definitely goes on favorites.

Thanks a bunch!
