3rd World Farmer is a really good strategy game with a political background.

The game was designed by the 3rd World Farmer Team http://www.3rdworldfarmer .com/About.html. liked the game and its cause and sponsored the game. If you want to do something good for mankind the 3rdworldfarmer website is a good place to start: http://www.3rdworldfarmer .com/links.html

I was sending back lots of emails with the 3rdworldfarmer guys and newgrounds to get the highscore to work but we did not succeed. If you want to post your highscores please play on ldfarmer

Well executed game and good mechanics, but the art is pretty simple.

Would be better if not so difficult

I personaly love games like this. My only real problem with this on in particular is that there are to many negative things that happen to frequently. I was never able to acheive certain items like a representative because of the constant losses I would take when ever I started doing well. The concept was great but I think ultimately no one likes fighting an up hill battle with only one leg to stand on, not even in a video game.

Tough but acuurate...

This game is a very tough stratagy game with a very acurate backround. I have a whole new respect for those farmers who suffered for their family's health.

Needless drag and drop got really annoying.

I don't understand why I needed to drag and drop each item onto a square on the board when it didn't make any difference where it was on the board. I should just have to click on the icons and they pop up on the nearest available spot on the board. And if they accidentally misclick once in awhile, offer an 'undo' button. That way over the long term, you're saving people a loooot of extra strain on their mouse hand while playing your game, strain that isn't necessary in the first place. It also saves time and the ocassional annoying stopDrag() that's off by a couple pixels thus counting as a cancelled action.

Personally, that really interfered with my enjoyment of the game.

Everything else, though, looked pretty good, and the concept was interesting, although it didn't look like there was any real way you would ever be completely wiped out if you diversified, but maybe I just didn't get that far yet.

They have a hard time, yeah I get it.

Aside from the fact this game has no sound and no animation, I thought the idea behind it was really good. The problem is you forgot that it's a game and that games are supposed to fun. I found this game to be very depressing, and the fact that pretty much every year results in yet another screw job, it turned out to not be very fun. I can read all about 3rd world countries in an encyclopedia; that coupled with my own common sense means I don't need a game to show they have a hard time. If you remake this I'd suggest going a little easy on the player and throw in some more 'positive' occurances. Death, disease, drought, and poverty with no foreseeable comeup on the horizon doesn't keep people coming back for more, just incase you didn't know.
