There are a many of great shooters on Newgrounds, this one included... I when I saw the animation on the menu, I thought it was great.... that's how great this game is... the menu is pleasing to watch. Which isn't to say the rest of the game isn't graphically great as well.... on the contrary, this is some of the best animation and graphic art I've ever seen. The destruction to the environment is present, which was remarkably real, and the ships and enemies looked awesome. Other than just amazing looking visuals, the gameplay makes it's mark as well. The controls are simple and creative... it was something new that I haven't seen before, and, it's comfortable.. so it works... and the ability to upgrade your ship with new weapons and stuff, even though there isn't much to choose from, but it's still fun to be able to choose stuff. Unfortunately there are downsides to this incredibly creative game, and one of them is the story.... It's pretty boring just to read it, on the blank, metal backround given, and I ended up skipping it... mostly because I don't care.... all I want to do is shoot stuff and get away with it. I also don't really see why I have to choose different characters, if all the characters fly the same ship.... what's the point? Also, your health does go down pretty quickly, maybe some more health to give to you in between boss battles.... Overall, this game has some loopholes here and there, but the graphics and gameplay kick ass, so you're totally going to get hooked in... great job... can't wait to see further installments.
