Nearly all the countries are included, from Afghanistan to Georgia. How quickly can you unscramble the names?

Let me know your thoughts! How did you get on? Do you have any specific criticisms? I really appreciate reviews.

Scoring system:
correct answers: +5pts
mistakes: -2pts
skips: -15pts

time taken to convert previous version to this: around 135 minutes (I already had made the country names array, but needed to edit it to avoid the player's frustration)

To do list:
????? Maybe add a new hint mode - wherein folk can use a point to see a portion of the word unscrambled.
???? Add all the remaining countries (apart from really 'hard' ones)
?? Continue tinkering with layout
?? Add in flashier feedback (noise for
?? Maybe some incidental gfx
? volume slider

^^Good Points^^
Definitely a challenging game for someone to play. It would take a lot of knowledge to actually get a positive score, which I was far from having. I liked the sound effects and music you added to this game as well.

^^Needs Improving^^
It would be nice if you skipped something to be able to see what the actual word was. Also, It was a little odd how you had to select the text to delete it. It would be much nicer if you had made it so the box was automatically cleared somehow. Also, when the game is over, if you have a negative score, it will display -1, and no less.

Author's Response:

Not sure what you mean about selecting the text to be deleted. I'm guessing you mean after skipping. Easily solved and I'll do so for the next iteration.

I'll also show actual words in the next iteration for sure.

I'll keep the negative scores. If you do badly, you deserve to know how badly.

I've got ideas for a hint system and hope you like the forthcoming version more with that added.

Improve
The background could be improved a bit i guess. Thats about it

The gameplay was very fun but very challenging. It was hard for me at least. (im 12) There was a sound whenever you got a right answer. That was cool. The music was pretty good for the flash. Great job on the flash

Author's Response:

It doesn't matter how old you are. You should be able to play this.

Play the flag finder game until you've gotten used to most of the flag names, then replay this and you'll find it a lot easier.

If you're younger, you'll soak in the info faste!

But the sequel should help you learn it all better anyway, with intelligent hints.

"Nice!"

I liked it. Here are a few points to consider:

The capitol letters is very nice. But what about the spaces--are they always in the same place as in the normal word? (i.e. would "El Salvador" always have a space as the 3rd character, or is its placement jumbled too?) I couldn't guess any of the names with spaces, so I couldn't check how it is. If it is jumbled, I think it shouldn't be just to make it easier.

Also you might consider an option at the end to show the answers for the questions you were presented with. If the jumbling is randomized each time, I don't think people would "get used to" the problems and be able to answer them easily after a few times through.

Author's Response:

Thanks for the constructive review!

Having spaces in fixed places isn't something I'd considered. Would be tricky to do, but seems like it'd be nice mebbe.

I think you do definitely 'get used to' the names. I mean some of the country names may not even be known to you and as you read the names more often, you'd bound to be more familiar and able to decipher them more quickly.

v1 will probably have no skip button, in favour of 'hints' that will progressively unscramble the word.

Stay funky!

"Pretty cool"

That was really fun. It was quite hard too, but it was also addictive. So you say every single country's in there? Uh-oh.

Author's Response:

I took out 3 countries that seemed ridiculously hard (the 2 Congos and something else). Also, no countries that don't have their own flag.

Apart from that, it's got all the countries from Afghanistan to Georgia. 85 all in all - around half of them.

v1 will have nearly all.

Glad you liked it!

I'm not too good at this, but it was awesome. I played for a while and the only one I had right was Finland. I'm really tired though, and it's kind of late (excuses). Haha. But yeah, I will be playing this one more often to get my brain working!

Author's Response:

Hehehe. I'm playing it over and over myself, to improve my knowledge.

My high score is 55, but that's maybe because I became more familiar with a lot of names whilst drawing all the flags...
