"Extremely bad."
date: November 22, 2006
The preloader was irritating since it had sound. If you're going to put audio in a preloader make sure you have a mute button, some people like to do other things while waiting for the movie to load. Sure, this had a small filesize, but people could still want to do something else inbetween clicking 'watch this movie' and clicking 'Play'. The audio loop itself was absolutely hideous, never before have I heard a loop worse than this. There was audible sound for a brief period, which was followed by a long silence. There was no change to the event in the preloader, the tank was mvoing just like before, so why the change in audio? The movement of the tank itself was also very bad since the lines on the tracks moved all over the place and didn't remain where they should have done. There were also two random red dots behind the tank, at first I thought they were StrawberryDock's hands, but they were completely the wrong colour, so obviously this isn't what they were supposed to be. A little bit of effort should have been put in to ensure that things weren't placed where they weren't supposed to be. The play button also proved to be annoying, since rolling the mouse over it played an extremely bad sounding piece of speakonia. It would have been an improvement if you could make out what was being said, but it would have by no means rescued this Flash.
The preloader was also very bad. The characters were very badly drawn apart from the two on the right. The tweens weren't done in a nice way either, making the preloader almost unbearable to watch. This was then followed by a really low quality image, which didn't make this Flash look like it was going to be any better.
I start off by watching IRken-Dock's(what a strange name, I wonder what IRken is supposed to mean...) Flash, which was by the far the worst of the Flashes on offer here. The mountain was extremely badly drawn. If any other program than Flash was being used, there'd have been a possibly acceptable excuse, but unfortunately Flash was used to make this, so there shopuld be no reason for the graphics to be so bad. Try putting at least a little effort into things rather than trying to get things completed as soon as possible, you didn't even bother to draw a background, something which would have helped the appearance of this Flash. Again I found this part to be extremely irritating, the same old hideous motion tweens and the same old annoying Speakonia voice. The white circle however, proved to be the most annoying thing, since not only was it's movement absolutely dreadfully done, but there was no reason for it to be there whatsoever. The clip also lacked a storyline, a gem being made in China was hardly riveting and it wasn't funny either. It was made even less funny due to the fact that the joke was revealed on the menu screen, taking away any surprise the viewer might have had. There also needed to be some sort of build-up for the joke to have its impact. The Flash could have shown Strawberry-Dock putting so much time and effort into trying to find the gem, only for him to find out it was a complete waste of his time. There appeared to be no reason for the gem blowing up, apart from adding a touch of childish humour to the Flash, which was cringeworthy.
Imacow's Flash turned out to be a million times better than IRken-Dock's, due to the fact that the 'camera' moved and more than one shot was shown, but it was still an absolutely dreadful Flash, which just goes to show how bad IRken-Dock's actually was. The main disappointment here was the fact that the events were EXACTLY THE SAME as the previous movie, which gave the feeling that you were watching the same Flash twice in quick succession.
Off I go to watch the final two movies and I see that they don't exist. One says 'Sorry, he's not quite done.' when clicked and the other opens up a link to the page on Newgrounds hosting this Flash. This is probably for the best though, watching the same thing twice was bad enough. I am wondering though why this was submitted if it wasn't complete.
Author's Response:
You have offended me. I happen to be IRKen. And IRKen happens to be ZIM's race on Invader ZIM.
Imacow's was good, and so was mine.
The script was by "Black Dock" or "Black-X".
And Radioactive's does exist. He uploaded it seperatly.
Your review talks alot about the preloader.
As for why it was submitted early, the deadline was last SUNDAY.
Also, Your ratings are unfair. This had graphics. Do you mean to say it had no graphics whatsoever?
