There are no spells, potions, etc or replay buttons. The replay buttons will be added later in the real game because I did'nt know how to reset the HP. Anyway, I'm on the voices and programming, and Kirbynator, helped me with ideas (like the "do nothing" button.)The real game will contain more monsters, a variety of more heroes and weapons, potions, etc. Please be patient. It'll take more than two days. NEW! Easier to click buttons! Now you are able to click'em easier. Now this will get some popularity!

"Not very interested"

by: Auz
date: June 4, 2007

Sorry, but I´m not very interested in the full verion. This demo wasn´t that great. It just had one battle with one option (well two actually, but "do nothing" is pointless) and it didn´t even work properly. The HP of the enemy didn´t changed right after I attacked, so I couldn´t really tell if I was close to killing him or not. His HP suddenly went from 40 to -10 or something. And the play-again button at the end didn´t work either. When I pressed it, my character said "Yeah" again and he lost some of his HP :s

I think it needs some work on the graphics as well. I can´t say they were very very bad, but they weren´t too good either. I suggest you try to improve your drawing skills a little. Last: Could you get rid of the negative numbers in the HP? I think -10 looks a bit ugly, it should stop at 0.

Overall 3 out of 10, 1 out of 5. Like I said, I´m not really interested in the full version. I strongly suggest you try to improve your flash skills a little before turning this into a real RPG.

Author's Response:

The full version will most-probably not be on flash.

Sorry for play again: I had all the script but for some bizarre reason it did not work.

Sorry for the graphics; back then they seriously sucked.

For the -10, I didn't care, and I didn't know how.

^^Good Points^^
Honestly, I found the "No!" when you died to be pretty hilarious, which is why I gave you points for humor. The music wasn't bad, and the graphics aren't the worst I've seen.

^^Needs Improving^^
This really doesn't offer a lot, even considering that it is a demo. You only have the option to attack or nothing (which has no advantage at all). You should add more attacks and some items, spells, or something. It seems like you have the coding down well enough to add some of these components.

I know, but we might not continue it, since it is gonna be a real game (we are gonna be videogame programmers in the future). Anyway we started working on RPG maker 2003.

"I can see why it's a demo"

To me, this seems more like a fight test really. What you now need to work on is maybe a few more animations for the fights - one very wooden looking attack isn't going to make a fight. Final Fantasy has that, but it really overcompensates with plotline and FMV sequences.

Now I'd say that you need to make it more of a Legend of Zelda style walk about game, with a fight scene similar to that, plus throw in a few extras, like items, spells and level up abilities. Then you're getting towards a playable final game.

Plotline is also a must, but that will come with time. It's a start and i'm willing to accept that you're working on it

Author's Response:

I had all that before, but I lost it since I got a new computer.

It doesn't really matter because we've started it on RPG Maker.

"Good demo, just remember to improve where needed.."

date: November 6, 2006

The graphics were nothing special. You also had the buttons as the text only, so when you slipped into, say the letter "o" in do nothing, it was no longer a button. You have a good idea, but little things like this will annoy people, but luckily it shouldn't be too hard to fix.
I actually enjoyed the sound. It was a pleasent change to not have all the sound levels blasting out my speakers.
However, games like these revolve around their strategies and story lines. You can't strategize if there is only one attack move and no defense.

Keep at it!
P.S. Have you heard of a big game called Adventure Quest? That might give you some ideas.

Author's Response:

Yes I do, I play it sometimes, and DragonFable too, but i'm going for the Shining Force/Final Fantasy type of games. Thanks anyway.

"i really really hope...."

date: November 6, 2006

i really really hope the actual game is better than this. the music was annoying, the graphics sucked, and the button was a bit hard to hit at times. first hing you should do is FIX THE GRAPHICS. second thing to do: GET BETTER MUSIC, the music was repetitive and annoying get better music for the real game. and make the clicking area bigger it was annoying at times to find the place to click in.

Author's Response:

Yeah it will. The menu will not be like this one. It'll have spells, MP,Potions, etc. Grafix: Sorry man, i'm not a pro at drawing backgrounds; i'll find someone else to do it. As for the characters, you havent seen anything yet. Sound: I find it ok. But it will not be the same in the real thing all the time. Clicking area: It'll be much different in the game, i'll put a transparent circle around the button in order for easier clicking. Conclusion: You'll have to wait for the real game cuz' it'll be different and cooler, with a story, etc.
