--- UPDATE ---

Back in the 80s i played a textbased economic game
on my Commodore PLUS4 - I don't know the name but I know that i was fascinated. (edit: maybe it was Santa Paravia - thanks&greets to Doki-Tokei)

Then in 2005 i found "dark emperor", a free java-based mobile game in german language (google knows the place ;) -- and i wanted to do that in flash. I copied some of the game mechanics of both games and added a bunch of nonsense. And here it is!

In fact, it's a dice game. So don't get frustrated when you have bad luck!

Reading the instructions is highly recommended!

Nice ressource management game

Took me 3 tries to beat the game.
1st I tried to be a decent leader, it was a disaster.
2nd, I tried to save food by starving the population and increased taxes as much as possible... I ended king.
3rd, I had figured that marketplaces is the most rewarding building and that improvement prices incease exponentially ant should therefore be bought as soon as possible. I ended Emperor, with evry improvement.
This is the only game I know where more expensive buildings proportionnaly grant less money.
I really liked playing it, Thanks.

The learning curve is really short if you follow the mini tutorial. Near the end it gets repetitive and easy, but still fun because your hard work is paying off. The only part I didn't like was that the fight at the end was based on chance (I lost with double the enemy's army).
