"An improvement over the original, but..."

It's strange to see so little SAW parodies out in Newgounds. This is an okay spoof of SAW, not so much SAW II. I really liked the visuals, one of the strongest aspects of this movie. You made good use of gradients for the trap and made the bathroom that was from SAW I look painstakingly good in a Flash universe.
I also really enjoyed the idea of interaction in one of these situations. I liked it how you had to play the tape, but that was the only thing you could do. There could be so much potential for making an alternate ending (where you could set him free) or more actions to turn the movie into a more involved experience. Very nice idea, that could have been built upon more.
I didn't enjoy though how you used the Halloween theme. It didn't fit very well, in my personal opinion. Try and vary up the soundtrack rather than relying one song the whole time (with the exception of the Ghostbusters theme, which wasn't funny).
Lastly, the humor. I barely found anything funny (with the exception of the actual trap, it was funny because how lame it was. I don't know if that was intentional though). The SAW series are open to a ton of jokes/parodies (like making fun of the twists in every movie, the cheesy over the top acting, make a lame trap, etc.), and didn't seem well used at all.
Overall, I think it was a decent attempt. I can tell from seeing this movie that you obviously have talent with Flash. Put a little bit more work, ambition, and time and I'm sure you'll make a great SAW parody. Keep it up. Hope to see more in the future.
