FAQ and Strategy Guide:

I finally release my first game, Super Smash Flash! Play as 28 different characters in Multi-man Melee, Target Test, Adventure, Classic, All-Star and more! So have fun! (I recommend a decent computer to run this game.)

Other Info:

-topcat13 is the one who created the characters Blade and Blue.
-Do not yell at me for not putting in EVERY single character from SSBM, I have my reasons.
-If you don't like the gameplay, at least cut me some slack since I'm only 16 and it's my first real game.
-You can't play team battles without at least one member on 2 or more of the teams.
-Player 1 is required for V.S. Battles
-I find it quite entertaining to watch CPU's battle it out to see who's best, try it!
-All Credit Info is already in the SWF

Nice attempt, but needs a lot of improvement and finetuning before it gets fun. The animation could be smoother (especially the way the screen bobs left and right when moving), the controls are ok, and the art and sprites aren't consistent; it doesn't fit with the rest sometimes. Also, you might wanna use different sounds, perhaps the original sounds from the SSB games? I played with Samus and when you shoot, i hear a gunshot, which gives me the feeling i'm shooting a rifle instead.

This is a joke, right?

The controls are absolutely intolerable, being both unresponsive and uncomfortable (Arrow keys and O+P? You must have a weird keyboard if you thought that was a comfortable position.), it's buggy as hell, and there were some generally terrible decisions made in regards to movesets and balancing. It's hardly even playable.

The only reason this is so highly rated is because of the massive fanboy overload, the waves of people who see that they can have Naruto fight Cloud and instantly give one of the two ratings they have the mental capacity to distribute: a ten. (The other being a one.)

I really have to question the logic of the character roster: Sonic I can understand, Naruto, well, that's cringe worthy, Mr. Incredible, I suppose you could plead insanity, but the addition of not one, but two half assed Sonic fan characters? No. Just no.

I suppose I can expect all sorts of "this review was not helpful" responses for this simply because I didn't like the game. It's to be expected.

In conclusion: 10 points for concept, but minus a million or so for execution.

Great idea, very pretty, but not fun.

I really like the idea you've got here. A 2D SSB could be brilliant if done well. Unfortunately, this version has tons of gameplay problems.

The graphics were fine. I liked your choice of sprites. The stages were okay. The menus were incredible and contributed to a brilliant presentation, my favorite thing about this flash. I liked the announcer, despite what I've seen in some other reviews.

The first problem I have is with the controls - O and P are very bad choices for buttons. They force the player to hold their hand above the keyboard, which is uncomfortable. Z and X or even Ctrl and Alt would have been better choices, and this is an easy fix.

I was a little disappointed that there was only one attack button, but that's not really a problem. The problem is that many of the attacks are poorly executed. I found Samus's up-attack nearly useless and found the most effective strategy to be rolling into the enemy repeatedly.

Aerial control is too floaty and jumps are too effective. Damage can rack up too quickly; there should be some brief invincibilty intervals. There's never a feeling of actually connecting with your opponent when attacking - often the attacks will go straight through a character. The combat needs some work.

The arena design is mostly pretty good, but "Race to the finish" and "Target test" are poorly designed. They're just monotonous jumping with no variety, and race to the finish was far too long. The floating islands stage had the same problem.

I was amazed by how well this game did some things - again, the menus were great. Some characters' animations were nice and fluid (Sonic), and effects like the KO burst were done well - but I didn't have much fun with this game, and couldn't bring myself to keep playing. Physics, attacks, controls, and level design need to be improved.

Ok, this is a comstuctive review, just read through it and laugh at some stuffs please.

Yeah, there were way to many problems that could have been fixed very easily. The animation, although somewhat jumpy was somewhat good, but looked like crap when you crapped out on the movement. It was way too skippy, and in turn cause collision detection problems. Some of the major problems were ofcourse the collision detection and the movement of the characters, but also the music made me want to go, "What the hell!? I want this stupid ass dead because he wanted to just loop some music that makes me want to go into an epileptic(typo'd?) seizure(also typo'd, too lazy for spell check) and wet me self(yes 'me' self) willst poking me liver to check for signs of a tumor from all of me damn apple juice drinking with my hobo buddy bob in the back ally behind the walmart next the to pet store i regularly go to for entertainment until they throw me out for punching puppies and throwing them at the infants that come into the store with their parents on saturdays when they are out looking for a new pet or maybe just killing time because mommy is to lazy to do anything and makes life at home a living hell." But anyway, the game was way to frustrating and made me want to do all that shit and describe even more happenings that have absolutly nothing to do with anything other than apple juice and tumors caused by throwing puppies and obesity. So yeah. You fucked up. Good idea, good effort, but ya crapped out on what was important. So go to hell, and i will sees ya there muthafunka when after i die in a car accident caused by having way to many cats in my car because i just stole them all from the cat lady living next door to me becuase she wont shut the hell up about me telling her to keep her damn cats off of my front lawn and to stop feeding them raw meet because then the cat poopoo wouldn't smell so bad but then i wouldnt have this problem if i hadn't disemboweld the old neighbor when he broke my blender that i lent to him because he was to much of a fat dumb ass to figure out how to go to the store and buy one for himself and just shut the hell up about not being able to make a milkshake even though he was lactose intolerant and shit himself and all over my bathroom floor everytime he had a milkshake because he was also too lazy to plunge his toilet and had to use mine.

So, to summerize without the awsome acounts of animal cruelty and obese lazy guys without blenders, this was a very good try, i just dont think that you try hard enough to get done what you set out to do. I would like to see you clean it up a bit and then post again, because i would love to play this kind of game for hours on end(if i dont use the bathroom, thats what pants are for), if it weren't completly annoying and made me want to kill myself.

I hoped the review was very entertaining, i did come up with all of this off the top of my head in 5 mins, thank you.
