MARIO GETS MASSIVE
(for a contest at VGDC)
As I've already said, THIS IS FOR A CONTEST. This isn't stolen. The contest? New Super Mario Bros. "Mega Mushroom" contest. I think I'm the one person out of 50 who chose 8-bit graphics.
The contest gives permission to use the VGDC intro. Randy Solem posts a link to the fla. file on the VGDC forums for all who enter the contest to use.
I whipped this up in a little more than a week, but don't judge it too quickly. I tried to use the same 8-bit graphic usage quality as the Super Mario Bros series (Parts I - V). I editted lots of sprites, made my own grass and completely remade the elements of the last NSMB level in NES sprites. That took a reeeeeally long time. Please vote fairly.

i dont think mario should have got big in every single scene but it was ok i guess....

Nice!
I liked this flash! It was funny and nicely done! Great work!
Graphics: Nice sprite animations and sprite work!
Style: Good.
Sound: Very good. Liked your use of New Super Mario Bros music. Nice use of sound effects too!
Violence: Nothing really good here.
Interactivity: It was good to have a screen selection. And, the jumping around on the menu was a nice addition.
Humor: I laughed a bit. I found all of them funny in their own way.

A Mario parody that has its own jokes? NO WAY!!!!!
Graphics: This looks incredible, you made CUSTOM sprites, and put things from later mario titles into 2-d, and you gave even more Mario views, and there were no bad spots at all, you did near perfect here.
Style: The only unique thing was that it was about the MEGA MUSHROOM, but everything else was AVERAGE!!!
Sound: The music in the last 3 seconds got annoying, but then the music was over, so you got barely any damage.
Violence: Mario violence, which is weak violence.
Interactivity: Hey, no failiure here, you are only losing frame by frame, but that add in is hard to pull off.
Humor: One word, LOL.
Fix: A little blood would not hurt, but your only weakness here is the lack of skits, there were only four.
