Very well put together game
I really enjoyed both the look and music of your game. I think that the cartoon simplicity of your backgrounds combined with the surreal music definitely help to make this game have a dark and mysterious aura. Although there is no real story to your game, it really feels like everything comes together in this nightmare. And although perhaps waking up with a strange hammer in your hands may in fact seem preposterous, all the elements of Nightmare Kingdom make sense within their own context. I really hope that you continue new incarnations of this game and perhaps flesh it out some more ( in terms of adding more levels, the world that you create is brilliant).
I really like the ghosts with helmets on their heads, that is a very nice touch. Good clanking sound effect as well when you bop them with the hammer.
One criticism, I do agree that this game might have a little too much jumping. But I don't think that it is a major issue.
Nice job! Please keep it up, and you are good at backgrounds.

Not too shabby!
The backgrounds were quite nice, and the choice of music was good. Clipping was well done, nothing that didn't actually hit me did damage (compared to most submissions where triangular spikes are programmed to have rectangular hit areas and...bleah :P good job!)
My only complaint is that it seemed a little thin in places. About half the screens didn't have much of anything on them in the way of actual gameplay objects. Still very pretty, just a bit thin.
