Three things I would like to complement about the film, despite the low score. One, I thank you for not making this a film where all of Afghanistan was targeted by a nuke. I've seen far too much hatred lead to a generalization of blame toward people, and there is no reason to punish innocents along with the guilty parties, especially in the idealized world of personal movies. Two, I thank you for not featuring a long, painful torture and death. I dislike these things because, frankly, I think they should be immoral by anyone's standards to be performed on anyone. It's a sad thing to see so many people become so vile and hateful and wretched that they would actually want to do such things to another person, and derive pleasure from it. I think it's sad for anyone to want to rejoice in the painful, slow execution of anyone, regardless of who they are, simply because good people should not want to do such inhuman things to other people, especially if they consider themselves morally superior. And because something immoral was done to us does not give us the right to abandon all morals and virtues ourselves and to indulge in a sadistic enjoyment of pain. Three, I thank you very much for finding a way to respond to bin Laden without using death. I've said again and again that I believe life has a sacredness to it that is inheirit, regardless of how one abuses such sacredness or misuses it, and for this reason it is wrong to kill anyone, be you terrorist or justice giver. As it wasn't right to kill anyone on Sept. 11th, I don't think it would be right to kill him, and if possible I think he should be incarcerated for life, though never let off the hook. So I thank you for not having death again in your own film. Of course...the reason for the low score was because I thought that there could have been a bit more innovative and clever response than the one constructed, which I personally thought was a bit inappropriate... But still, I hope that doesn't discredit you from my chief complement, that at least death was avoided.
