'How To Win Portal Awards'

Well, I wanted to do something different, and I think I did! If you want strategies for winning every sinlge portal award there is on Newgrounds, then you've come to the right place!

My 7'th submission (one of those submissions was co-authoured), I hope you enjoy it!

Reviews are appreictaed!

My Documents, My Music, and My Pictures were also used in the making of this movie.

Also, 'PyrochickenDS', has changed his name to 'PyroChickenX', as far as I know...

Thanks to Newgrounds for the icon... I used Macromedia Fireworks to make it into a 46X46 image.

Not bad

I know it's an oldie of yours - it's even pre-redesign, so we're talking a 3 year old piece here, but there were still things that you could have added on top of what information you've given people on the awards in question.

Perhaps you could have told people what they need to achieve in order to get the awards - underdog, for example being the greatest difference between the review average score and twice the portal voted score.

I'd have suggested that you give an image of the award itself, this description and your tips on how to win it, with the option of having speakonia read it out to you - sort of a TL;DR button, if you would. This would be something that disables the music automatically, but if people want to, they should be able to change the track and / or mute it altogether. I know you've got the talent to make something of what I'm thinking about now, so give it some thought and perhaps come up with a new, more modern version of this infomercial?

P.S. Please forgive the lateness of my reply.

This was interesting

~~REVIEW~~
this was interesting has all sorts of stuff and again good use of color which i liked, an older flash but still enjoyed it keep making stuff

~~THINGS TO IMPROVE ON~~

Eh...

It was more of an explanation, it didn't really tell me how to win an award, just what the awards were for. I absolutley hate that stupid synth voice, its only appropriate for certain things. Anyway, it only *sorta* did what it was supposed too, so i gave it a 7.

Frenzy responds:

lol thanks.

The concept is good

But alot of it wasn't in depth enough. I mean sure, it is hard to win a daily feature... but theres something else to it than just creating a great flash.

The backgrounds and musics you had were great, I enjoyed clicking on each award type and hearing the music repeat... it was all well constructed. The only thing that lacked was the depth into the information on the awards.

thanks!

for what is

+++ Cool idea. Subject matter instantly grasps people's attention. Well that of authors anyway.

-- Poor buttons. Sort out the hitboxes on frame 4. Perhaps use a big rectangle in that frame.

+++ Cool bg logo.

-- Kinda garish text colours and button colours.

---- Really thin on actual info. There's a lot of tips and tricks you can use to get these awards, none of which are mentioned.

--- The bg for the 'voice' version is really boring. Maybe you could have instead had an option - text alone/text with voice?

- Voice option does seem kinda pointless.

++ Cool sounding wee snippets.

Nice idea, but for what is essentially just textual information it's just not informative enough.

Frenzy responds:

okay, thanks.
