I was speechless. It was surely the most horrifying event in my lifetime. The terrorist attacks on the three locations of the Eastern United States took countless lives, and threatened the spirit of our nation. And I found myself fumbling for words.

And so I took up a search for words to borrow, and what resulted was the tribute video below ā€“ a video honoring the citizens of the free world who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.

Iā€™m sharing a message of compassionate non-violence, a message that Mahatma Gandhi so eloquently delivered.

"Nonviolence is the greatest force at the disposal of mankind. It is mightier than the mightiest weapon of destruction devised by the ingenuity of man." ā€“ Mahatma Gandhi

The images are all property of Reuters and AP Photo, and the music is a beautiful song by Hans Zimmer from The Thin Red Line Motion Picture Soundtrack.

Gimme a break

Not an original styleat all. And way too patriotic; that is, the final words were downplayed so much that they are basically rendered ineffective. The whole of the message seems to attempt to leech people's emotions to subdue their logical cognitive abilities. Sure, lotsa innocent people died in America because 3 sites were bombed, but afterwards, in Iraq, whole sections of cities were essentially leveled. Countless more innocent lives were lost because Americans didn't care if "the others" were killed. And let's not forget about those 'suspected' of terrorism. You know, like Cat Stevens. Sure, anyone could be a terrorist, but anyone could be innocent, too. This movie seems to want to take empathy and turn in into a raging want for revenge. Now, just to let you know, I don't think anyone should be indescrimitely killed or saved. Heck, I don't think anyone should be saved! But until someone or some people with real power care to destroy the entire world, I think we should stick by "innocent until proven guilty" and making sure only the guilty are punished. That means not bombing/shelling/sending Jehova's witness door-to-door at innocent civillians' houses. Back to the flash... the typewriter effect was a little annoying and I wasn't too fond of the music... I guess it was all right. And the pics were just pics... c'mon! Oh, and the message is still patriotic on the same level as National Socialist party propaganda.
