Hey Everyone!

"The Escape" is my very first short.

Creating the Film:

I worked on the animation section for approximately 3 days starting from May 26th, 2006 and ending May 28th, 2006. The Main Menu, Special Features, and all other contents were completed May 29th, 2006. I have worked with Flash before. However, "The Escape" was the first animated short I created.

This film was created using Macromedia Flash 8 and Adobe Photoshop CS. I previously had experience with Flash' action scripting which helped in creating the title menu and special features. And "The Escape" is the result. So I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed creating it.

"A brilliant first flash with a killer story to it"

This was great, it had a really style to it which expanded along with the art. The different use of angles was clever such as the long shot of the character isolated on the plateau and the high of shot of them looking up. The art was actually inspiring with some nice flowing moments and the character looked very original. The background was also very nice and the use of dull amber colours helped to signify the meaning and significance of the flash. The music flowed so perfectly with the flash it felt as if it was made for it, moving along at a slow pace and then picking up toward the end.
The Special Features option was nice and allows the viewer to find out more about the flash and its actual story if the story is a little vague during the actual showing. Overall this was great, very inspirational with some brilliant animation, music and a flair for story telling. This is going in the favourites.

"Natural"

Being that it is your first actual work with a flash animation, I'd have to say that it is top of the line in comparison to other beginners' work. I could definitely see your potential of being a great flash animator with more time spent with flash. Keep up the good work, can't wait to see more animations from you.

"Interesting"

A very serious short, the whole idea and how u expressed it is very interesting and the way everything is compared to something like the hunter to the law was genius.

"Sound needs work but.."

Good flash with a lot of symbolism.

However it ended very abruptly. The credits sound did not fit with the real tone of the movie, neither did the title screen.

The special features were a neat touch to help understand the story.

Good job overall. 9/10

"Boring and short. Like English class."

I found no point to this movie. There is nothing really to say about it. I liked the music, so I'll give you 7 that. And I go pheasant hunting; so there's a 10 for humor in there for you.
