Originally, this was one of a series of ideas the guys and I came up with. While this particular spread of animations never panned out, it has received a lot of attention on my Deviant Art page, so I figured it was about time I posted it here.

Hee! Penguin

That was pretty cute, I'll have to admit. I was thinking "Poke the Bunny" as soon as I saw this, but you made it something your own. The little penguin was a nice touch, and I can say that I never expected him to pull out a revolver. Cute but deadly. I thought the cartoon sounds were a nice touch, as I'm a big cartoon geek myself. It was good for a little chuckle and I think there needs to be more simple ideas like this on Newgrounds. Nicely done.

Great art -- not great content.

The artwork is superb -- possibly some of the best on Newgrounds. I hardly classify this as a 'game' though. Can't we poke something less adorable than a penguin?

I'll keep an eye out for future submissions from this author!

Good point on the last reply...

Well then i suggest maybe us flash makers can balance things, and team up those who can create great art, with those who can tell great stories, unfortunately, im one of the storytellers and still need work on drawing...

Jaleho responds:

I think we need more of this on Newgrounds. The collaborations and the crews are a good start, but a lot of time it seems that posts on the forums for "artist looking for writer" or "writer looking for artist" aren't taken very seriously, or never progress anywhere. Imagine what you could come up with if the best storytellers on NG teamed up with the best jokewriters on NG, then produced a script that the best artists and animators on NG brought to life, voiced by the best voice talent on NG - Cartoon Network would be begging for it! You could even take all that and mix it with the best actionscripters on NG and come out with a killer game to rival Alien Hominid in success outside NG!

meh

i didnt liek the SFX, it made it seem liek a kids cartoon, and the idea is kind of unoriginal 1/5

Jaleho responds:

I like kids cartoons... :P

Besides, like another commenter mentioned, I think thy contrasted well with the senseless violence at the end.

HAHAHAHA.

Well the graphics were off the hook and the sound fx were original; and even though it was short it was a classic funny flash. I hope to have that good of animation soon.

Jaleho responds:

Looking back on this flash (I made it quite a while ago) I realize how stiff it looks in many places. I think there's two keys to improving one's animation - understanding the physics of movement, and understanding how flash works. My animation is much smoother than this now (yet sadly, all my samples are shorter and more unfinished than this), and I've learned a lot more on how to whip flash into doing what I want it to do from Waterman. Start with still drawings, then your animations will look better.
