-FLASH 8 PLUGIN NEEDED-
Im not sure about loading times on this movie...but please be patient!
Anyway welcome to my first movie using flash 8! This project was originally a test but then became a full on project! Plesase Vote and visit my site. Thank you for your support.
Keep up the work
I really like your optimism in your review responses, that'll get you far!
I don't think this was good, though, so I'll give you some pointers for the next one:
- Make it faster. A four word phrases does not have to be on screen for 5 seconds. I don't want to see Mario standing still for 3 seconds until an enemy appears. Etcetera. It needs to be very dynamic, otherwise it won't stand out.
- Use way, way more sprites. Have as many characters of SMW as possible pop their head around the door sometime. Since there are so many Mario-visits-Bowser flashes out there, your best bet at originality is to put lots of thought into the details. Make around 20 tiny side-stories that can be shown in a few seconds. Then make Mario run past, and ta-dah: you included it into the main story.
- You use good music, listen to it well and see if there are elements that can interact with the images - for example, a goombah moving to a melody, a thwomp falling down on the beat, etcetera.
- Overall, make it as smooth and impressive as possible. With so many people using this idea for a flash, you gotta aim for top-quality. I'd watch a lot of the Mario spoofs that are rated high, to see what you have to compete with.
Wow...Now thats a review i can understand :)
Yer there are bits which are shall we say "turtle like"!!
I actually really admire you for writing that review and giving your time to help me :) Fancy helping out on part 2? Email me! Thanks FJ.
Needs A LOT of work.
The first couple of seconds were done rather nicely. However, after that, it was just a bunch of unnecessary scenes of mario running around. The spritework was below average. The run/walk was choppy, but the jumping was the worst. Take your time when you animate - spriting is easy enough as it is. If this is your first sprite movie, then you did a decent job. Try looking at more tutorials to get a better sense of what's good and how to make your movies good. You'll get there, but as of now, you've got a lot to learn.

Wow A Newgrounds Great commenting how crappy my movie was!
Thanks for watching :) Look forward to more of your stuff anyway!!
Its not to bad, needs work, I noticed Marios walk cycle was 2-4 frames and his legs only moved half way. Also Mario seemed taller than Bowser. and some pieces of background need to be re-arranged and animated (the Lava mainly) Not bad if this is your first attempt, but it does need alot of work, hopefully Part 2 will have a large improvement.
I spent days trying to get that bloody blured background to work! Im quite happy with it. But yes...it is quite poor. I apologize :)
You know what...I forgot about the lava! That will definatly be done in part 2 hopefully! The walk cycle hmmm... I can see what u mean... Maybe mario was ummm...Jigging? Thanks for the review...even if i did just get 2!!
Great story line and pretty good graphics.
The sprites are beautiful arent they :)
Thanks to the people that made them :)
Thanks for the good review :) FJ
The Macintosh Computer Hater Says...
Not much of a 'movie'.. just your basic stuff i've seen a million times. Humor was pretty juvenille. 'I did yur mum'? come on, 'your mom' jokes just don't cut it anymore. Then you cut it off when something was about to happen.
Pretty 'meh'. Coulda been way better.
lol First of all Whts up with Macs? I hate Apple Generally !! Stoopid iPod Battery time...
Basically i had no choice but to cut it off then because of my pc's slowness in loading the .fla
Please please stay tuned for part 2!
Thanks for your review and keep hating those macs!
An indirect Sequel to "The Artist" shows the life of the salaryman
Cornelius & Toots are back, and a Haunted House Ride seems a little spookier than usual!
