"Command & Conquer Tiberium Catastrophe" shows you the ultimate disaster of a C&C Tiberium Dawn mission.
The GDI tries to establish a new base in Germany to attack the incoming Nod forces, but some things get horrible wrong.

*UPDATE*: Thanks a lot Tom Fulp, for the "Video Game Parodies" category !

It´s probably the first C&C Sprite movie ever. Though i´ve seen some sprite comics before and two normal flash movies on Newgrounds. I got the idea for this movie about two or more months ago. I was looking for something noone ever did before, and so i tried a Command & Conquer Sprite movie (with some handrawn graphics by me too). I got the XCC Mixer from Olaf van der Spek to rip out the sprites.

But it wasn´t actually very easy, it is my first sprite movie, and to the other side, i was the first guy ever tried to make the C&C Sprites workable for flash, and goddamn, those were many... Also the Nod colors were missing, everything was on default GDI colors.

The animation itself is 14 pics per second, a mix between tweening and frame by frame. I used normal graphics from the game, but i also did some own costum sprites in there too (though not much). And as always there is a giant explosion, handdrawn, by me in the movie.

The Nod soldiers at the end speak german, thats right, because they are germans, recruited by the Nod... just to answer questions... (Im from Germany)

If you really read all this stuff down here, then i hope you enjoy/enjoyed this movie.

Good.

I don't really like sprite animations that much, but this was good.
Graphics were good, even though I don't like sprites. The explosion was great!
Sounds were quite good, but the footsteps in the beginning were very annoying.
The movie didn't have a very special story, but it was funny. I liked it much, it wasn't boring or anything. Seems like I don't have much else to say.
Overall this was very good.

Killerratte responds:

I couldn´t really make a story on a 4 x 4 mapscreen, but i also didn´t want to make some film consisting out of independent scenes. So i made a movie that was just running along trough some weird happenings.

I might start the next movie (if there is going to be one) from the Brotherhood of Nod side.

And sorry about the footsteps.

Heh, brilliant.

It's about time a good C&C sprite animation came along. Not only that but a Tiberian Dawn one too. It's just sad that what I've seen from the E3 trailer of C&C 3: Tiberium Wars (which admittedly isn't much) it seems like EA are concentrating on the games graphics engine too much again, although in the interview they guy said they were concentrating on storyline he looked like he had no clue on what he was talking about. Also the technology looks less advanced than that of Firestorm, I was personally hoping and still am to see the return of CABAL and Joseph Kucan, the original Kane. Anyway enough about that. To sum up this movie pretty much had it all, good style, humor, sound and moderate voilence. The fact that it's a C&C sprite animation just adds to the brilliance. It's hard to convey how much I like this movie, full marks.

Killerratte responds:

I never played Firestorm. This whole technology stuff isn´t soooo bad, its probably because i prefer tanks over mechs...

And yeah, the trailer i saw with the scramble scene really didn´t remind me of a Command & Conquer game. The Orca design is complete bullshit... and they used a soundtrack from Renegade... how cheap is that.

Goddamn i hate EA, i bet they will let the multiplayer part die like in Generals again.

...

The guy in the interview told nothing new, it was like he learned the text from the advertising.

I don´t trust EA Games in any way, they are bastards.

5 out of 5 for originality

I've never seen any flash like thise before and I think you came up with a great idea. I'll give you 5 just because it was so original. The humor was also very good too.
The voice-acting kinda sucked, but the music was good and the graphics were quite good too (even though they consisted mainly of sprites). Nice work!

Killerratte responds:

The voice acting is mainly so bad because all voice actors and me are german. We tried to not sound like germans when speaking the text... crap, didn´t work very well.

Thanks for the review.

interesting idea

very interesting idea for a movie.
could have been a little better in the areas of storyline/happenings, but the idea for the movie was really original and fresh.
good job man.
possible sequel?

Killerratte responds:

Well i was running out of ideas... eventhough i was actually going to make a scene with the harvester... maybe next time.

A sequel is possible, but when, i do not know yet.
