loving the series =]
I think this is the funniest so far =D The only problem is that it doesnt have any credits-music and that its so short. Anyway keep it up, I'd love to see more of this series! =]
This is really a breakthrough episode in the Mittens series. The quality of the flash episodes is more consistent now that the constraint of daily production has been removed. The last few episodes have maintained the same humor and tone as the very early ones. In other words, very good.
The graphics are modestly improved since the earlier episodes and the animation is consistent. The character motion and gesticulations are good, a nice touch that adds depth, such as the king's hand.
Some of the quality is below the standard set by the style element. That is, many objects and motions could be more easily understood without sacrificing the style. Mittens' flipping the bird is obvious enough, but many other elements, which are necessary to the jokes, are not as easy to catch.
The big breakthrough is casting Mittens as Link. Mittens stays in character but because the life and world of Mittens has been so ill-defined in other episodes, the viewers are left at loose ends. In other successful serials, like Bonus Stage or Xombie, the world is very clearly defined, allowing the characters to easily simply live their lives to create an episode. There has continued to be a bit of a struggle with new ideas for the Mittens series because it lacks this defining element. Introducing a readily defined world, like Hyrule, solves this problem in a unique way. This can be continued for other archetypal scenarios, although ultimately one hopes for a solid Mittens world to form as a backbone for the series.
