Please watch the full video before voting. It also means that you see everything that happens. The characters are intended to be simplistic as it creates a child-like memory and fits the theme (if you dont believe me you can click to watch the animatic and see). Please review aswell so I can see where I can improve, thanks!

EDIT: There's a (naff) directors commentary here

EDIT: Thank you so much for the Underdog award. It does mean a lot to me when people leave reviews, and I do respond to them all. So far the vast majority have been very supportive and have offered great advice. Thanks!

I liked it

While your animation isn't the most refined, it was still pretty simplistically nice. I really enjoyed the fact that your flash had so much substance. That is what truely made it good.

You are an outstanding individual.

You managed to get a chill up my spine. Great job!

After reading some of your reviews, (and marking some abusive.) I decided this about your animation; the style specificly. The flashbacks were well made, drawn out to just right legnths, and helped you get to know the characters. After that, you turned the entire thing upside-down.

Truly incredible. Even though you are a noob at flash and can't animate that well, I couldn't have made the drawing any better. The mood is set quite well. I would've suggested that you made the colors with less saturation just after the crash. I am hoping to show this to the High School.

hm, quite nice!

this was very well done, a bit more mature and refined, perhaps, than most of the stuff on NG, which is always nice to see. the message itself was a bit mixed up in that it wasnt entirely obvious (to me) whether the driver had been drinking at all before he ran over the kid (this is probably a bit stupid, and ive probably missed something here too) and it kinda made it seem like a drawn out road safety advertisement in the end.
i think the animation style was pretty nice, simplistic, but fluid and effective, and my only real complaint is about the greenday soundtrack, which didnt gel very well with the subject matter, but thats only me. well done, and i hope to see more in the future, maybe a bit more upbeat next time, eh?! :D

mr-darlington responds:

Thanks. The alcohol was not intended to be very clear because (so I've heard) in a drink drive situation like this it's never apparent that alcohol is involved because you never see it coming (also hence the keyline "It's something unpredictable")
