I won't go into excess remarks such as "improve your flash skills" or things like that since, as you said, this was made as a school project and NOT specifically for Newgrounds.

First of all, you really should add a preloader to this. The file is over 3mb, so a preloader is definately a must. Secondly, I wasn't sure what your main message was, but for some reason I was still able to connect with the animation a bit. The reason why sorta baffles me to be honest. :P

Anyway, the drawings are far from outstanding, but when all is said and done, I'd say you did a pretty OK job!

well, the animation itself wasn't all that great, but i gave you a 7 for style because your efforts in this one were good and it was pretty accurate too on the Apartheid.

I'm not sure what your aims were here.

---: When you got to the title screen, I thought that was the end. I closed it on first viewing and when I decided to watch it again, I just kept it open whilst I checked the definition of Apartheid. (I admit - I wasn't sure.) Only because of that did I see the rest. I think you should make the pause shorter, or have something go on whilst text appears, to show the movie's continuing.

------: The movie starts automatically. No play/replay button. Very irritating.

---: The story seemed kinda confusing. Black dude looks into white family's window... goes hom, checks his colour, we see some forms discrimination, then we see the birth of apartheid? It's not really a cohesive story to stick in our minds and I don't know what you expect us to get from this. That it's bad to segregate folk? Surely we all know that already?

++: I actually kinda like some elements of the graphics. I like the sort of scribbled style.

+++: The music fits very well.

Have you ever seen Phil Mulloy's films? You should definitely check them out. Specially his 'Intolerance' and 'Intolerance 2' films. They're kinda similar thematically and I consider them great artistic acheivements.

It seems you have some lofty ambitions here, but you don't do a great job of expressing yourself.

I come away somewhat baffled.

work on your flash skills

first of all you need a preloader. i have a good computer so it ran fine for me but those with bad computers and dial up would be pissed off. you also need to add a stop action at your last frame so it doesnt loop. actually did you add in any actionscript at all? you need to read some of the tutorials on how to use flash because this could have been much better with some small changes to it. At the end of the movie you could have put down a small message about what apartheid is and what it has done because i can bet you that not everyone viewing this will know what it is.
