Daily 4th. Wahey!

A Uni project, after 2 days of non stop work in a small storage room, and about a month of pre and post production. Made with clay, gingerbread-men-like character models and a whole lot of painted stuff. Had to compress it quite a bit, but it should be watchable enough. Take note the file is just under 5MB, though. A much nicer copy of the film is available at http://www.deviantart.co

It's kind of a spoof of the lack of time creators have when working for children’s telly, only this is what happens when the time isn't spent very well, and it's had to be rushed out of the door so the creator doesn’t get the sack.

The Fuji’s (excluding Stereo) names are tributes to other stop-motion animations, such as Argonaut (Think Ray Harryhausen) Runt and Rex (Rex the Runt by Aardman) and Wenslydale (a subtle reference to Wallace and Gromit). I also included some of my all time favourite sound effects, and a full on parody of a Disney film scene. Just because.

"ninja-pirate-wizard-monkey-fairy-PANCAKES!!!"

date: June 16, 2006

For stop animation, that was pretty kick-ass. The ninja-pirate-wizard-monkey-fairy-PANCAKES!!! bit was pretty damn funny and so was the samurai part. But the funniest part was when Stereo got the wizard hat and started randomly dancing to the Sorceror's Apperentace. This flash really joins the ranks of your mangas on your site. Thanx for that Sonic/Tenchi bit, that was a snicker. Great job on this, and keep up the good work.

"And the randomness continues!"

date: April 24, 2006

As I normally hate stop-animation (or maybe its just because of the stuff that gets submitted here sucks out loud), I was more than a little surprised to see that I enjoyed this animation. This had several really funny moments that alone make this a worthwhile view, but the quality of the stop animation and the interaction between the characters and the more traditionally animated scenes are excellent as well.

Great to see that you're talented in more than one field of art, Gaga..... though it makes me look even crappier by comparison as all I can do is write.....

That's an excellent claymation style that you've got over there. You're not a member of stopmotionanimation dot com by any chance, are you? ;)

Excellent style, excellent execution and some really nice humour too. I marked this down really only because the sound quality was rather bad and the video quality was also not too stellar.

Author's Response:

Blame this site's file size limit for the video quality. Actually, this was my first main attempt at stop-motion.

"abrupt but funny"

by: Sabr
date: March 1, 2006

The story was abrupt, a little senseless and random, but the characters (and the narration) were so adorable and funny that the story/plot itself didn't really effect my viewing pleasure. I also have a weakness for claymation stories... so overall excellent work :D

The whole pirate-monkeyninjapirates transition scene was soooo funny, undoubtedly my favourite scene :D
