Full title: Love, Bullets, and Nicotine

Update: I've gotten some good and bad criticisms--thank you, all! I'll try to make the second one even better. I saw some valid complaints, and some I think missed the point--this *is* in the still-noir style. If that doesn't float your boat, cool. But just to clarify; that's why there wasn't *specific* animation. Think Zork :) Newgrounds amuses me and satisfies me at the same time--oh well!

'maybe if it was a book...' oh, my.

What started as a doodle of a devious looking man and a song, snowballed into this noir project of mine. I'm quite proud of it--and would like to do more in the future.

I'm completely open to criticism, changes, compliments, concerns, etc. about the movie. I'll gladly make updated versions.

Only disclaimer I might say is in some situations you have to read fast.

Otherwise, there are a few known "issues:" one is there are various instances of the browning not being greyscale, and the other is the taxi--there are people standing in font of it, so it's even less believable that it's "moving." I'll fix all of these and any other discrepancies in future versions.

It doesn't lag for me, but it might no some computers. Try to see it on a non-laggy computer! Some of the timing is key.

Enjoy!

~~REVIEW~~
This was very well done, nice effort and detail shown, also very well balanced between animating and effects and such, could use some downsizing though...

~~THINGS TO IMPROVE ON~~
Downsize the flash so that it doesnt take so long to load up...

~~OVERALL~~
A great flash with great effort and nice detail, keep it up...

"A very good, very original movie"

date: September 23, 2005

I must say, this movie left me impressed. I am dying to know what happens. The text is superb--writer material, you know--and the music... Oh the music.

For one, you turned me into a DMST fan now. But, more importantly, this song, while being a great song on its own, is just so perfect for this movie. Or is the movie perfect for the music? I would never tell, that's how perfectly intertwined they are. At any rate, something to be proud of, right there.

"Quentin Tarantino-esque prolog."

date: September 6, 2005

Interesting, a dark and gritty prolog. What I loved the most was the music which would need to be good to carry a flash like this. Hard to get into the character though and at times seemed cliche, I enjoyed it.

"mmmmmm"

date: September 4, 2005

pretty good could use a littel tightening, i like the idea, the music got a little annoying at times but it worked will with the story, maybe you could have some hand drawn pics instead of just scenery? or tweek them a little? either way i think it was nicely done, a good interesting story, and it easily draws the watcher in. overall, good job. look up "broken saints" its an ng series that is done something like this. i think you could get alot from it.
