I used to hope Katrina was the kick up the arse America needed to actually start rebuilding places like New Orleans and other places hit by hurricanes...
And now, New Orleans is still screwed, and America has resumed its usual "let's spend half our money sending cannon-fodder troops into Afghanistan, and the other half making more junk food to feed our overweight citizens."

I was in 8th grade at the time. I didn't think much of it. What would you think if you were only 14? I still feel like I could have done something. Starting a fundraiser or a simple donation. Well, what's done is done. There are alot of things today that need our attention and I don't have time to dwell on the past. Next time, I'll be ready to help.
