dont be fooled by the file size. this game took quite a bit of coding. it is just thanks to handdrawn images and clever techno loops that the file size remained less than a tenth of a kilobyte.

please try to enjoy, and leave your name, score, mode, and level in your review. remember the good old days?

Not bad

A good flash version of the old DOS game Fraction Munchers. This version actually had alot more math variations, too. If only you made this during the days of Apogee, you couldve been a millionaire.

authorblues responds:

it was originally for apple II, then DOS. and it was released as number munchers. fraction munchers and word munchers were spinoffs of the original. and i stole this idea, so i dont think i could have come up with something like this otherwise.

nice game

It's a really good game. I think I might send the link to my math teacher. It is a good math game. I only played it for like a minute, but I put what you requested.

score: 1896

level: 2

authorblues responds:

glad you enjoyed it. hope your math teacher likes it nearly as much. thats not a bad score for level 2. i wonder what grade level you played at.

Well i cant say i would ever play this

I mean its not terible..... its also not entertaining.

authorblues responds:

i dont expect this to appeal to everyone. it is just nostalgic value. i loved this game, and i am now paying homage to it. besides, this was good practice in actionscript for me.

this was the most script-intensive game ive ever written. FAR more difficult than those initial d racing games i made, even if they were better in the long run.

I just downloaded Number Munchers yesterday and played it for the first time in the last 10 years. Next day I see this. Not a bad version, though you didn't have my favorite game, prime numbers. Also, the muncher often moves 2 spaces for even the slightest touch of the arrow key. Still a good game, though you should still work on it some more.

authorblues responds:

buddy, i spent hours looking for an algorithm for prime numbers. they dont exist, unless you use a sieve of eratosthenes. unless you happen to have a list of all mersenne primes available. i did consider just typing out a list of prime numbers, but that would have been inaffective and tedious. otherwise, i really wanted to include prime numbers.
