Hrmmm Interesting

Im a big fan af anime and all anime styles ( pro and amature ) and i just have to say i love what you have done with that submission. Allthought the frame rate could be picked up a bit to make it smoother and you could do with tweaking the sound a bit outside flash, i would suggest something like audio clean up lab it will just give the voices a slight punch, but a damn good tribute to anime everywhere, keep up the good work and i cant wait to see the next one :D

Nanashi responds:

THanks for your constructive review. The reson why the voices sound so bad is becouse what the viewer is listening to is the short range radio transmissions between the pilots.

Not bad, but not great either...

OK first off, let me just say that Phobotech is a fucking idiot. Wow dude, get a fucking life, and try and look on the bright side of things for once. That being said, USArmyTactics, why the hell did u spend that much time worrying about a dumbass? It's beyond me. But anyway, here's my review:

First, I voted a 3. Why? Well let me explain. It was good, but there were lots of parts where there were no sounds and nothing was really happening. Just try and keep a balance of either of the two. If there are no sounds for what somebody is doing, then make his actions quick and change camera angles a couple times. But if there is plenty of sounds, don't keep the guy doing what he's doing forever, it'll get boring. And the sound will get annoying.

I thought it was good. I thought it was good of you to remake, your series, and I do look forward to seeing the rest. I also liked how, now I gather it wasn't your story (I haven't even heard of Robotech or any of these movies, I must look for them!), but I liked how you explained the storyline and what the fighters were all about at the beginning of the movie.

One last thing, I think you should pay a little more attention to a the moving animations of your characters. The tweens were a little slow and looked slightly sloppy. I'm not sure what the framerate was but if it wasn't from at least 22fps-30fps, then please make your future movies with that framerate. It looks much smoother. Anyways, nice movies, just smoothen them up a bit on animation and sounds. But I really look forward to the remake of your series.

Nanashi responds:

Thank you for the constructive rewview. It must play alot different on everyone elses computers than on mine, I thought things flowed nicly.

By defult, Flash uses 12FPS. I Did a movie in 30 FPS once, and it was hell. File size was huge, and frame by frame animation was almost impossible! Thats why I am shooting for 16 FPS on episode 2 remake.

Well looks like im in for a lonf review :P

---You dont have to read this NG users--- but if you wont ^^ you can.

Ok ladies and gentlemen of new grounds I am here to cleanse the bad doing of the mighty PHOBOTECH. Hmmm I think I shall get started by stating a few things Phobotech seems to have missed.

--Phobotech mistakes:
Lisa was not on the SDF-1 she was actually if you saw that she had a flight suit on in Roy's VF... lets connect the lines children. And hmmm they say “We” see what I’m saying? Plot Holes yes a very good word to use if you know how to use it and use it for the right things, in this case --WRONG. It's just your way of watching the flash may it be your trying to look for something or your just in a bad mood, well anyway --- Non-static is not a plot hole ROFL it’s an effect

---One shot to kill, well this is simple, you see a fighter works off of a basic system (well not basic) allot of the parts correspond with each other as seen in any jet. Hmmm and the Hon Solo hatch thing ok... Well ok we The Zentradi will make it so we can not get to any damaged part of the ship well "crap boss what do we do if something is wrong with the pluming" "I don’t know son, we are doomed" ROFL ok this is to fun. Ok ok seriously The Zentradi where a created race and so where there ships, so like in any Military ship there are access ports to get into if something goes rong with that area or there is a leak of a chemical, common we see this in all are ships like the Navy and stuff just try and think bigger BIGGER because these space ships are allot bigger. well I think I’m getting off track, ok well at least you knew it was a Radar disk fwew your good, If you have ever played CS you would know that people get lucky shots, or it may have been that he knew where to shoot, you see something aren’t told because that would ruin something that can be grown upon later in the story, like uhh let me give you an example "In Independence Day they have these big ships that are all seemed to be invincible but no we find out the secret the one big momma ship later in the movie" just small example of a interesting story.

---Just plain stupid---
Ok why would you try to say or put off like your saying that he traced? I mean come on you cant say that in till you find the picture he traced. And seeing that you made a long Review you probably have the time to look.

---The Guy Who Always Dies---
Ok please no one is going to know what the heck your talking about,
His name Is Roy Folker ok, well now that everyone knows who the heck your talking about I have to say that he doesn’t die many of times, he only dies Once in the Robotech Series and ARMY_Rangers Remake or parody what ever you wont to call it doesn’t make him die more then once.

Lets see, If I made something that I didn’t like and wonted to redo the Graphics and story line a bit I would remake it especially in NG because of all the Users coming in and watching flashes I would wont my Flash series to look good all around. For some reason I read over your stuff again and again and still it makes me sad that one person can be so uhh... well plainly put stupid. I know you are looking for things to make it look bad but your looking at all the wrong things that you don’t know much about and here is one example of this "The Macross..." *sigh Ok this is called the SDF-1, Macross if you knew was the Island that was put into the SDF-1 so if you wont you can say the SDF-1 with Macross city inside of it.
ok let me quote you here "Veritech/E3 Sentry (huge reconnaissance plane) hybrid" ok well I already see something wrong with this Hybrid is the word I’m looking at and laughing, as you can see there is only one thing on the VF-1 that is different, a radar disc that is all, so it's a modification or modified VF-1 made for Recon.
----I cant type enymore because of cheracter limite--- :P

Wow...ARMY_ranger does it again...

..and I guess you decided to take English tutorials or something, because you only got TWO (maybe I missed one, so maybe three) words misspelled; A staggering improvement over your other works...

...Once more, you actually managed to bring in some of your friends to step up to the mike for you, along with getting your own sound effects, bagkground music, and what nots...

So let's get down to the nitty-gritty of THIS flash, and we'll pretend that your other 30 second long episodes of horrible grammar, plot-holes, and attempted drama of "crap.swf" never happened.

--Graphics: Computer Graphics! Wow, soooo much cleaner than before there, Da Vinci. The faces that you cleverly drew, meh...they ARE notibly better than before...but I suspect tracing; they're just a lil' bit TOO articulate if you compare it with your previous fl-...oops, said I'd stop.
--Style: Your redoing a redo, of a redo, of a tribute to a show that's been around for at LEAST a couple of decades. Way to go Hollywoo- err...ARMY_ranger...
--Sound: Voice actors that I was actually stood corrected on, initially thinking they were ripped from a game or something, BUT you got the real deal with the VT. Sound effects, and background music was also quite Robotech orientated, it's just there were parts where there was just awkward silence due to lack of action...that, and one part didn't make sense to me; If the spaceship the-guy-who-always-dies was in folded THOUSANDS (or hundreds, whatever) light-years away from the Macross, how in the hell could him and Lisa carry a conversation over the Comm-link without any fading, interference, or static? She wasn't on the ship with him, was she? And if she was, you should've clarified that... (plot-hole #1: Non-staticy intergalactic conversation; The age where distance doesn't matter when it comes to wave-lengths...)
--Violence: It kicked up when the Shock Troopers stormed the ship......kinda.... Ok, the moment we found out the-guy-who-always-dies was in the presence of an enemy Prisoner Of War camp PLANET (as farfetch'd as that sounds) you'd pretty much assume that it would take a bigger plot-device than kryptonite wombats to allow this guy to survive. I was under the impression that there were only three Troops, seeing as how you showed us three exiting a cleverly placed Han Solo hide-away compartment, even though they were all killed quicker than you would a squirrel with a Dodge Viper. But no, these unfortunate saps had surprise reinforcements cleverly hidden just offscreen while our hero, ever so enthusiastically, floats across the screen shooting at them...offscreen... Unfortuantely though, the-guy-who-always-dies decided to take a Veritech/E3 Sentry (huge reconnaissance plane) hybrid into battle...He should've SUSPECTED there would be a combat situation, and send a more combat capable fighter, BUT no... Ironically, the only shot fired by the shock troops completely disabled the unpractically equipped Veritech...THE ONLY SHOT FIRED...which brigns me to plot-hole #2, how did a single shot to the Radar Disc manage to completely shut down everything but the right arm of the Veritech? And before you go off on me trying to explain yourself, you should've specified it in the flash.
--Interactivity: Play button, whoo...
--Humor: I put a 5 because all of your flashes are potentially funny...especially when your trying to be serious! Remember that one time you put Sailor Moon music to one of your battles? Holy crap that was hilarious...

Overall: Your pulling a Hollywood; Redo, Remake, Revamp...It even says it in the title in BIG BOLD LETTERS: "Robotech Episode 1 REMAKE" why you would want to take pride in this is beyond me, your just putting perfume on a dusty turd. Try something NEW for once, eh? Voting 0 because it just wasn't that good...if this was your first jab at the Robotech thing, you could've gotten a 4, but THIS IS ALL YOU EVER DO, so 0.

Phobos Technology, Phobotech.

Nanashi responds:

Da Vinci. The faces that you cleverly drew, meh...they ARE notibly better than before...but I suspect tracing;they're just a lil' bit TOO articulate if you compare it with your previous fl-“

Faces where hand drawn, helmets where hand drawn, hell, everything but the 3D and background pictures (stars) was hand drawn.

”that, and one part didn't make sense to me; If the spaceship the-guy-who-always-dies was in foldedTHOUSANDS (or hundreds, whatever) light-years awayfrom the Macross, how in the hell could him and Lisa carry aconversation over the Comm-link without any fading, interference, or static? She wasn't on the ship with him, was she?

Can you read the little text next that says who is speaking? Can you LOOK at what is on screen? That’s a 2 seated veritech, with 2 people in it, Roy and Lisa. And if you want to get technical, you are a moron to assume that intergalactic communication is even possible across 300 light-years, much less that there would be so called static. LOL! If they fold 300 light-years away, it’s going to take there transmissions 300 years to reach the SDF-1. Retarded mistake number 1

”--Violence: It kicked up when the Shock Troopers stormed the ship......kinda.... Ok, the moment we found out the-guy-who-always-dies was in the presence of an enemy Prisoner OfWar camp PLANET (as farfetch'd as that sounds) you'dpretty much assume that it would take a bigger plot-device than kryptonite wombats to allow this guy to survive. I was under the impression that there wereonly three Troops, seeing as how you showed us three exiting a cleverly placed Han Solo hide-away compartment, even though they were all killed quicker than you would a squirrel with a Dodge Viper.”

Retarded mistake number 2, that’s not a hideaway. If your vast knowledge could only stretch back to when Rick and Lisa fell through the floor of a hallway in a Zentrodi ship into the depths below. The Zentrodi do not know how to repair Robotechlology, so there are gaps in the ship, under rooms and hallways, that Zentrodi could navigate.

“Unfortuantely though, theguywhoalwaysdies decided to take a Veritech/E3 Sentry (huge reconnaissance plane) hybrid into battle. He should've SUSPECTED there would be a combat situation, and send a more combat capable fighter, BUT no”

Retarded mistake number 3 This veritech is just as battle capable as any other, except of corse that it carries recognizance equipment. And that guy who dies, he always dies because the animation never changes (if you watch the first episode 3 times, hes going to die 3 times, sorry to break that to you) and his name is ROY, witch is clearly printed on his helmet, and next to every line of text he speaks.

“Ironically, the only shot fired by the shock troops completely disabled the unpractically equipped Veritech THE ONLY SHOT FIRED which brigns me to plot-hole #2, how did a single shot to the RadarDisc manage to completely shutdown everything but the right arm of the Veritech?”

Its all in the script, I don’t have to explain shit to you, and I will save my self the effort. Lets just say that not al questions are answered. Oh and BTW, that was an EMP round (Electro-magnetic Pulse, in a form that you can understand) Hint, electricity? Hint!

”--Humor: I put a5 because all of your flashes are potentially funny.especially when your trying to be serious!Remember that one time you put Sailor Moon music to one of your battles? Holy crap that was hilarious...”

Yeah, that song I still get E-mails about today from people who wish to know the name of the song and what CD they can buy it on? Yeah, I remember that song.
As I said above, I do what the general public wishes, and a lot more people like my animations than hate them. (A+ artist, 3.60 average score, you starting to see the light?) I only occasionally get morons like you who have troubles understanding things (like the speed at witch radio waves travel, that’s right, I don’t want to blow your mind but they aren’t instantaneous)

I am not a true robotech fan.

Even though i am not a fan of it, the flash was real good. The whole thing ran smoothly and i wish newgrounds would get more flashes like this. The only voice i couldnt understand that well, was Lisa. She got louder later but the beginnig i had no idea what she was saying. I didnt understand it that much. IT MIGHT BE THE FACT THAT I DONT KNOW WHAT ROBOTECH IS!!!!! if has something to do with that tell me.

Nanashi responds:

Shouldent make a huge difference. Thats why I added the text at the start while its loading, and the subtitles so if you cant hear someone, you can read what they said.
thanks for your review
