This is my first submission in over a year to NG. I just became too busy to animate stuff for a while, but here's something new. Wasn't going to submit it at first, as its been so long, but after some constant persuasion, i have done :)

imitation style (sorry)
I know that you are saying you want it to be a style of your own, but with the mimicry of art and mood, its always going to seem quite Firthish in its mannerism. Personally, as a fan of Firth's lighter works (BFM, the child who smelled odd), I'm not much for the dark stuff, but on a purely objective scale, its a decent enough movie. I know its not fair to compare you to an artist like Firth, but since the art style is so incredibly similar, its hard not to...
Argh i give up!! :) i dont want it to be a style of my own! individual style is something i've never been able to do and I expect it'll take a lot before i CAN do it!!! I realise the art is "firthish", and in a way i'm flattered I've achieved such a high standard!!! Now i realise i'm not going to escape being compared, as no one is who adopts this style anymore (which is a shame - why must influenced people be criticised?) so i really do give up trying to explain myself on this one.
Oh and David, if by any chance you see this - please back me up :(

Nice work, a unique flash indeed.
I liked this and i can definitely explain why, it was different than the usual stuff that comes to the portal. Everything about it was unique and seemed to be entirely your own. In my review i will breifly explain each aspect.
The graphics were good, you reaqlly got an animating style like David Firth(author of Burnt Face Man and Salad Fingers). The characters were drawn like his and thts cool. The backrounds could use a little work but i see you put effort into them. This didnt have all the animating i was lookingt for, but what i did see was good. The style in this was great, mostly because of that freaky type of mood and of course your animating style. Perhaps the pace of this movie could be a little bit faster. The sound was cool, i love how you made the audio, completely original work. The song really created that mood i spoke of very well. The audio quality seemed nice.
Overall this was good, perhaps the review average is quite as high as it should be but the score out of five is there to prove this is good. Keep up the good work! 4/5

Hmm.
I completely understand your motivation to find your own style, however I think it ruins a flash with such ugly drawn freaky looking characters. Plus, we know he's a monk instead of putting stitches across his face, maybe point it out in some less sickening way. Just my thoughts.
Actually, most monks tend to refrain from face-stitching...
