"The Fingertips Project" is a massive collaboration done by various members of the animutation discussion list, set to the song Fingertips by They Might Be Giants. 13 artists come togethor with different styles, some relying on classic animutation cliches such as Colin Mochrie, some using original characters and animation, and some being just plain bizzare, but in the end producing a unique work of entertainment.

The full list of artists is as follows:
Toxic the Machine AKA Bob Barker, Andrew Kepple, Neil Cicierega, Random Ferret,Un-J, Eric Fleck, ChainsawJugg1er, Nathew, Mudi, Glutnix, Bill Volk, Bort and Keith Stack.

It's true that others have tried making a video for Fingertips before, and in no way did we attempt to steal any ideas from them. But also, very few have ever done the full track in its entirety. It's not the most breathtaking work that you'll find on here. You can click on the top 50 for that. But it's interesting.

This movie just keeps on giving

This movie just keeps on giving. :) At first I found the "please pass the milk" scene the funniest but it's in fact one of the simplest parts of the movie. Like animutation in general, you need to watch things several times to catch all the hidden things (did you spot Mei from Totoro and Mimi and Sora from Digimon?) Pause button really comes handy but it should be possible to rewind faster than one frame per click when holding down on a button.

At first I was thinking that the faces in certain scenes (aren't you the guy who hit me in the eye, who's knocking on the wall) are different based on wether you start from the main page, the play again link or the scene select page, but more likely it's completely random. I didn't notice the face in the ending scene changes until reading this in one of the earlier comments. Most likely the faces are set in a movie clip and there's an action script with gotoAndStop(random_variable) that selects one of the faces. After all, the face doesn't need to change, moving it can be acquired by motion tweening and the black mouth is on a different layer that's pasted on top.

I noticed that in the "Hey now everybody" scene, there is a pile of hay. Simple but funny...

But the previous reviewer said that the silhouettes in the first scene were cool, well I think they're an anime cliché and I dare to assume that they were used here for that very reason. I don't think anyone should waste their time making such things unless it's for parody purposes.

this is something for people who are stoned

it wwas real good, origional at best. but i think you could make FREAKIN AWSOME action things with the way you made the first scene. like those dudes behind the other dudes. hulk hogan and jesus for example. use that and you would be front page for a month at the latest

Ha ha ha! Sweet!

Was it your intention that this be an animutation? I started watching it and it shows Colin Mocherie, Jesus H. Christ, and the first thing to pop in my mind ANIMUTATION!!!

Hilarious, you've got some pretty funny stuff here. Wasn't expecting Colin to feed himself to (that head of someone I don't know). Great work.
