Robots aren't supposed to have emotions...
However, perhaps robots can be conscious of the fact that they lack something essential that humans have and sometimes take for granted, or perhaps they can have emotions and not be aware of it...

-Daily second place! Well, I'm thrilled but the robot is pretty indifferent about it.
-Thank you Tom, for featuring this on the frontpage! (March 19th-21st)

Great job once again.

You are by far my favorite flash artist on this site. You prove that violence, sex, drugs, etc. are not necessary to make a flash a good one. Great job.

BlackmarketKraig responds:

Thanks.
I try to make the kind of movies I want to make, about the things that I find interesting. It just so happens that meaningless violence, sex and drugs aren't where my heart is.

Thanks again!

ferschtace?

intriguing! i think we all have something to learn from this. really cool. and now, for the Q: ______ although poorly made and crappy, making the "Q" / __ \ was entirely necessary. and
| | | | where i come from, giving a Q
| | _| | rating is the best there is. so i
| |_| \| voted a five, gave a ten overall,
\___\ \ and wrote a strange but good
\__\ review. well, anyway, it was mad freakin good, so there. i dunno, this review was the product of a good flash, boredom and pointlessness. just like my life. well, lastly, "do what the monkey says, kids, or hell turn your head into pancakes!" ye-eah. yeah yeah. whatever. hey, blackmarket kraig, do you care who writes the reviews, and what mental conditions they have, or just whether the review is good or not?¿?¿

BlackmarketKraig responds:

Thank you for the review and the giant Q! That was awesome!

No, I don't really care who writes reviews or what they say, sometimes the negative ones that don't have anything constructive to say can be really wearing...

Thanks again for reviewing and for the awesome score!

Oy, you nit pickers.....

Ok, I’ll explain this simply. "Want" is not what is necessarily happening here.

If the concept is that a robotic mind is AWARE of the emotional capacity of humans, and the robotic mind is DESIGNED to gather KNOWLEDGE, then the best way for the robotic mind to gather datum on emotions is experientially, not empirically.
What are they teaching in schools these days?? Go read some Heinlein, and some Asimov, kids.
But back to the review.
This is a beautiful, poignant and ultimately tragic and profound story. It speaks to the eternal truth that all beings seek that which they do not know, and are often destroyed by that knowledge. The simplicity of the animation coupled with the audio track and the honor you pay your audience in respecting our intelligence garners you my top score.
5/5, and keep up the good work.

And the rest of ‘y'all nay-sayers…good gravy….READ!! Educate thyself :-)

Great.

This was very original, and I loved the concept you presented. Very well animated, and very, very unique.

BlackmarketKraig responds:

Thank you very, very much!
