It was good but...

I think that it was a nice idea, and very stylised, to me though it just felt a little soul less. You are obviously very good with 3D work, but you dont seem to be quite as high a level at flash itself, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying you're bad at flash, but you used the program just to squish a load of 3D characters in. It should have been a very good flash, the mood was right, the style was good, but it just didn't quite have the charm or heart for me. A good job none the less though, and I feel I'm dwelling too much on very much personal problems with it. Keep trying, I'm sure that someone with your obvious talent is soon to nail it eventually.

SirGaryColeman responds:

Hopefully, I will. The style changes a bit in episode 3 (hopefully not in a bad way for anyone who likes the current one), so maybe you'll view it when I finish those and let me know if you think it's better. Thanks for the review.

Beautiful

Very artistic. This movie and the one before it show incredible skill. Beautiful music, sketchbook animation and a mystical storyline really draw the audience into this world, despite its lack of color (which really isn't a drawback...it's part of the story.)

I'll be following this series.

SirGaryColeman responds:

Thanks, glad to know you'll be following it.

Pretty good

As usual, there are pros and cons. Here they are:

Pros:
- Interesting idea to do it in 'Shades of Grey'
- Good artwork and animation
- Interesting plot

Cons:
- Bad choice of music (especially the techno tune, doesn't fit the story at all)
- No voices (I read your comment and have to agree that it's difficult to find good ones, but in general, I'd say anything is better than "text only")
- Inconsistent art. Your main character appears to be 3D rendered and then traced somehow. You hide it well, but in some scenes it's quite obvious. The other characters seem like they have been made in Flash, which isn't a bad thing, but the quality of animation isn't conistent.
- Some of the camera angels you use don't work very well because your don't have a backdrop for your action.

Seems like a lot of cons, but I still think your movies is good and worth watching.

SirGaryColeman responds:

I disagree with you on the music and voices, but other than that I can agree. I will try to improve on those in the future.

I love these

I watched this and episode 2. I love the animation on these, and the style. I hope more comes out soon!

SirGaryColeman responds:

Working on episode 3 and 4 right now... hopefully they'll be out in a couple weeks.
