Thugjacker is the first game from Sokay.net. It's a beat 'em up along the lines of Double Dragon and Streets of rage. We've been working on this game for a million years and this is the first public release. This is a 2 level demo. Have fun.

A nice work in progress, needs work

First off, I can tell you put quite a lot of effort into this, so I'll just get straight to the point
1) Animation: While nice, they do wear on after a while. The characters seem really mechanical, a few more frames of animation would go a long way in helpin this.
2) Attacks: You need more variety. Remember the old school brawlers, which you have drawn a lot of inspiration from. There were crowbars, bats, trashcans, bricks. Lots of stuff laying around you could use to either throw into enemies or smack them around with, There should also be more animations and variety in the usual melee attacks. Maybe a three or four part combo(?)
3) Grabs: This basically goes off the attacks catagory, but you should add in the ability to get close and grab enemies to push or throw around. Also, the dogs could have a grab attack, since thats their primary attack is their teeth.
4) Special attacks: Maybe add in a few others, like a super combo or something. I dunno, just an idea.

In my opinion, I dont like it..

This game is really stupid...Whenever you respawn while fighting the boss, He'll just hit you before u can even move and when you try to use special against him, he will hit you straight after u land this attack. Repeated attacks and special and the slow motion death gets really annoying. Thats all i got to say but dont worry u can do better then me any day ^^

Potential is there

Some kick em' while there down would be nice. some actual throws would be nice too. I really was lead on when I saw the trashcans. I thought I could at least use them as weapons. I played the game on medium diffuculty, but that it was way toooooo easy, even for medium. The punching sounds gave out when I was fighting the bear. Whats up with that? I liked the pace of the game and the excessive ssuper punches didn't go without it's charm. It was fun, but I couldn't help to keep thinking of better ways that this game could have been. Oh yea, the punching was a bit stiff, it would work better if it let me turn around quicker, but I worked with it. A bit more violence couldn't hurt. A bit misleading from the start in that aspect.

Not too bad

Reminds me of good old Streets of Rage 'cept for one bug where this guy kept dying and getting back up to die again, and dropping a burger each time. Made it a bit easy.

pretty good

Here's a list of problems I had with this: there was no way to block, only one super, no items, no blood (generic violence all around, with a name like Thug Jacker I expected more), no variety of moves, no character voices, and that's about it for now. Oh yeah, I almost forgot... there wasn't a plot, either. If you fix all that stuff you should have a pretty darn good game going.
