2007 commentary: This is my ambitious 5-part series called BRUNCH of the DEAD. It went to be awarded a daily award for every episode, which I'm very happy about. Episode 3 received 2nd place and lost to a cartoon about boobies (which I was mad at first, but then I realized that nothing can beat boobies). The series premise was to follow an ex-hitman who arrives into a ghost town where he discovers quickly that there's something wrong, DEAD wrong! ... no wait, that didn't make any sense. Well, that's exactly what the spirit of the series is. It's packed with physical humor, visual, pop culture, and some zombie killing action. I was still getting better at animating, but I never got to a certain dream plateau I was always shooting for. I admired so many other great animators on this website and I always wished I could get to be as good as them. So, this is an ambitious series for a regular animator. Enjoy... and you will see that this will be.... the most terrifying brunch of the day!

The Calm Before: Top Notch!

The beginning with the truck hitting some spikes and spewing toxic waste all over the cemetery is brilliantly done. Although not exceptional in the graphics department, it's all good. I also like how you presented the credits on tombstones... Very clever. This is just like in a movie you'd see on TV. The hand coming out of the ground was also great. I love the way you used black and white to liven up the atomosphere.

This reminds me so much of the B-type Zombie Movies I would watch as a kid. The music is also nice and cheesy. Just right for this movie.

The scene with the couple is a classic. Just like in most zombie movies, there is always some romance involved. "Cacamooga." It's hilarious how the woman drinks the ring.

Now, the bar scene was all good BUT, the only inconvenience was the woman's voice. It sounded like a man! Probably because it was. Haha. Just adds to the humor factor. You should have added subtitles or an option to toggle them on or off.

I also liked how each scene was introduced with a TEXT screen. Kind of like in the "Kill Bill" series. The reference to "Tool Time" was unexpected and weird.

This episode was slow but still enjoyable. No actual action but a nice introduction to the whole series. I really like your style. Thank you.

Thank you very much for the well thought long review. I love reading long reviews, it shows that that particular viewer paid attention and seemed to enjoy it more.
The girl's voice is purposely mean't to sound more manly than the actual male character. The girl's name is Girlman, lol.

Finally, some actual movies around here!

Alright, that might've been a little overreacted, but I mean, I really like this submission. It's funny as hell and really great, eventhough the graphics aren't as great as the other flash films in this genre.. And that means you've got some quality work :)

Riotcomix-2006 responds:

Thank you very much. I do think that substance is far more important than graphics. I do, however, push myself to improve my graphics after every animation I create. Thank you once again, highly appreciated.

Haha I've been a fan of old school horror movies so it was nice to see something like this! I hope to see the next ones and that they will be as funny as this masterpiece!

Riotcomix-2006 responds:

That is awesome that you're also a fan of the more classic original horror movies that were made because the filmmaker loved the genre....and not the money. Thanks for the great comment.

Great with a great 8! (but i gave it a 9) 8D

I simply love all those old zombie-movies, so I cant help but to simply love this one as well! ^^
The part with the neighbour from that comedy series starring Tim Allen (or whatever his name is, like I can remember everything.. ^^) was a splendid idea!
Now I'm gonna watch part 2, hopefully it'll be great as well!
