This is a small demo for the game I'm working on in colaboration with others. It demonstrates how the movement of the game will be and some of how the battling will be.

There are instructions in the game and on my website if you would like to help contribute to the game.

Ok

Well guess its not fully finished and some of this are not complete but I do like the idea you have here just needs to have more effort and more things in place for it to be a full game but seems you are headed in the right direction, anyways keep at it.

~~THINGS TO IMPROVE ON~~
An un complete game needs more working parts.

~X~

this... is bad

this is very bad!!! the gameplay the grapichs forget your idea

Chen-Baiwan responds:

For good reason, it's more than 2 years old. I've moved onto other projects, but I'm probably still going to do an RPG.

Pretty awesome looking!!!

I always like Tool_Of_The_System's work, I just never seem to review them. I think they're under-rated.

The graphics were great, and the RPG element made this very unique in it's own sort of way.

A decent RPG game on Newgrounds is hard to find now-a-days.

MI4_REAL_2001 has the idea of the camera angles, so instead of me typing out stuff about that, just read his review too!

Chen-Baiwan responds:

I agree...Tool_of_the_System is a very under-rated artist... Hopefully this game will do well once the first chapter has been completed. Although since he has projects of his own he has been difficult to work with on this game... although he has been willing to take a break from his work to iron out bugs in this game. I myself am not too good of an actionscripted but I'm getting better...

Looks pretty cool to me.

The graphics were well defined, and I'm kind of partial to RPGs. (Especially Final Fantasy and Dragon Warrior)

A decent RPG game on Newgrounds would be sweet indeed.

My only idea, birds eye camera angles so one could see more of the field he/she was running on. (Adjustable of course, because some people like to see it up close like it did here)

That's one thing crucial with camera angles. Never make one, make several, beacuse if one favors 3rd person views and always have to move around in 1st person, they are not going to enjoy it as much. If they can do 1st, 2nd, and 3rd person views, it gives it variety, a crucial factor in any RPG. Or any game for that matter.

Chen-Baiwan responds:

Ugh... you've got to realize that it's a lot of work even with one camera angle... Flash isn't actually a 3D program and so I can't make a multi- angle 3d game like FF7 and above (although FF7-FF9 games did't actually use 3D backgrounds but they had quite a few views...)

Creating multiple views using 2D is only going to add to the amount of action script, spritework, and a little to the background work I have to do and already the project is practically too much for me...

Still... I appreciate your comment. If I had the time and the energy I would probably implement these multiple camera angles into the game... I'm also glad you liked some of the graphics...

If you would like to see a version of the actual game be sure to check this link out...

Since I've scrapped the battle system used in the demo DrNeroCF is working on a new and more promising battle system with a similar layout... unfortunately it hasn't yet been implemented into the game...

Thank you,
-Chen Baiwan
