People still seem to use this tutorial, better check out _ULTIMATE TUTORIAL 2_, it also covers this subject.

My second tutorial. It's how to make a simple game. It's only for beginners (but you already have to know a little bit about flash)
Please put it in the review if you found something in the tutorial thats not correct. And review if you have any tips for me. Note: The may be a few grammar/spelling foults in this tutorial, but thats because i'm not english. Hope you like my new tutorial!

Great work

This really helped me and many beginners out there. Thanks for mentioning the things that should be in MX, it really helped me, because I use MX pro. Its understandable because you illustrate how-to-do-that, wheres-that-button.. etc.. and it should be. (Too bad I'm using MX so I had to find out where all those stuff is.)

I gave 10 to Graphics 'coz it illustrates things you must do.
10 to style 'coz its an easy way of learning.
5 to sound 'coz its fine.. but not necessary.
10 to interactivity because the user/viewer can relate on the work.

I need help, when i put in the actionscript for the enemie it says:

"**Error** Scene=Scene 1, layer=Layer 1, frame=1:Line 1: Clip events are permitted only for movie clip instances
onClipEvent (enterFrame) { if (_root.player._x<_x) { _x -= 5; }}onClipEvent (enterFrame) { if (_root.player._y>_y) { _y += 5; }}onClipEvent (enterFrame) { if (_root.player._y<_y) { _y -= 5; }}

Total ActionScript Errors: 1 Reported Errors: 1"

Did you give the enemy the instance name: Enemy? Check that out first. If it doesnt work email me at: or AIM me at: Gamecubicleflash

Nice tutorial

It was good, but I'm wondering how do you get the scores from a quiz added automatically. For example Im making a quiz if the person gets three questions wrong at the end of a 10 question quiz how do i get it to say they got 7/10.

Any help would be appreciated, good work on this tutorial as well.

At the end of the tutorial there is a script on how to make a score counter remember?
