*12/30/2005* - updated the game with my new website address... ... I also increased the frame rate to make up for the lag of playing it in a browser... so now the priest will walk at his intended speed, but the game may be a bit harder.

BEFORE PLAYING: If your computer is old, play this on low quality and cheat. Otherwise, you won't make it past the first guy. If your computer is decent, I'd still recommend medium quality as it looks very similar to high.

-if you can't gun down the little kids with the pistol (takes 3 shots) cheat under the options menu... and pick all guns.
-the uzi is probably the most defensive weapon since you can aim it in one spot, hold down shoot, and let the guys run into it... but if you're accurate, definitely use the shotgun.
-walk slow into the level. enemies appear based on how far you walk... if you walk too far too quickly you'll get swarmed
-for the boss... you can only shoot him when while his shield is down (with the shotgun). if you see him point at you, you better shoot him in the head immediately. shooting him in the body won't kill him. sorry for being misleading.

.... once you get used to it, the game really isn't so hard

I made this game as a portfolio piece so I could more successfully attempt getting a job. I started in january, but that was on and off. I didn't work on it full time until late summer. I thought it would be the first scroller/shooter of it's kind, but madness interactive and nightmare beat me to it, and did it really well. I'd love to show you guys a full 5 level game... but that would be way over 5 megs and would take me another year.
If you like this game, and you also happen to be a relevent employer in or around NYC... GIVE ME A JOB. I am poor and lame.

other than that, go watch "beautiful day" again with a loved one.

Top Stuff!

I did have quite a lot of trouble with the first enemy.

Being used to the system whereby you just need to shoot in the right direction, it took me a while to work out you actually need to click on the enemies. Maybe you should have mentioned that in the help section?

Also, I do feel that shooting them in the head should definitely kill them. It seemed as if to kill the man, you needed to shoot him 2 times in the same location. Shooting him once everywhere, including his head, doesn't put him down. That just seems like a bit of a flaw.

I was a little disappointed to see no new enemies in the 2nd or 3rd sections, but I suppose that's understandable.

I found the final boss a bit of a disappointment - after working out how to beat it, it was just a case of holding the cursor in the same place, staying crouched and shooting when appropriate. With an occasional jump for the orange things.

It just seemed like once I'd worked out what to do, having to wait for his attacks was a bit boring. Maybe he should attack a bit faster once you've hit him in the head once?

Also, it would be nicer if the arm only went from about 25degrees to 190 degrees.

However, despite these flaws, the game was a joy to play - mainly due to your outstanding graphics.

It's a great game, but with a few tweaks, it could be even better.

Great Game

I really like the concept of this game. Expecally when you are fighting the boss... The preist just stands there like a bad ass and blasts the demon in the face.Love it and can't wait for the sequel... Although I feel you gave up the other guns too quickly and that the pistol needs to be a little stronger.

Awesome, but needs refinement

Wow, that was really good. It's rare that a flash game that hard will keep my attention long enough to beat it (no I'm not ADD i just don't find it worthwhile). However, there are more than a few bugs in your game. The arm can rotate all 360 degrees, and when you die in mid air the animation pretends you are still on the ground. Also why do the crosshairs have to be on the enemy? Don't bullets keep going? Worst of all are the bugs involved with shooting/moving at the same time, they alomost made the game unplayable for me. All in all though, these are just gitches to be ironed out of an otherwise great game.

This game may be the best I've seen on NG yet. I hope this will remove Frank's Adventure from its current top spot - It's so obvious which one is better! The priest idea is very nice, and violence and interactivity are just downright deliciously bloody. I gave 5 for humor because of the skater kid zombie (lol) and another 1 for the fact that the priest can (unintentionally)rotate is arms in a very goofy manner. You may want to restrict the rotation of his arm within 180 degrees forward. Looking forward to seeing this in the top 5!
