I made this at the start of 2000. Keep in mind - it was cool back in the day, so don't expect it to kick ass...now that people have much higher expectations for every aspect of Flash games.

Hell, don't even bother to play it.

Street Life, worthy of # 2?

Ah, Street Life, who hasn't seen it? This movie/game combinds art, animation, sound, and quality. People very in answers to if they like it or not... Most are Positive, others negative. What's the plot of this movie, no idea, something along the lines of, some dude gets bored, steals money, goes to a strip club, and shoots the guy he stole from. Worth the wait like said on the pre-loader? Yep. Watch it. Love it. Thank it.

Not bad... but is it worthy of #1?

There seem to be 3 keys that make a Portal movie popular nowadays: pornography, violence, and offensive language. Seeing as Street Life has all 3 of these in gratuitous amounts, it's understandable why it's so popolar with most Portal viewers. But when you look beyond all of that, does it really deserve to be as high as it is?
This is a great contribution to the Portal, make no doubt about that. The artwork is very nice, and the general lack of sound except for footsteps and gunshots helps to establish the general mood of life on the street. However, there isn't much in the way of actual animation; wlaking is basically the character bobbing up and down. Also, the movie paddles along at a rather slow pace, and can get almost dull at certain points.
Although it has a few shortcomings, Will Stamper's personal best is still a great addition to the Portal. It doesn't really deserve a number 2 ranking, but I would still recommend it for any Portal viewer.

Is it worth 1st place??

Some people may say it does, some don't. myself, i think it should be 1st, but X-Ray glasses is a tough contender. Worth doing it again to see what the outcome of every choice is, but after that, not much replay value. still a great entry and gives X-Ray glasses a run for it's money, but should it be 1st??? YES,YES,YES!!!

Steet Life Review

This street life game has changed the american society as we know it. The game has brought new hope into the race we are now known as the human. This game kicks the living donkey balls outta everyother game, making it supreme. New hopes for cancer have been produced because of the making of this game. And it may seem scary, but actually have infulenced an entire school to kill there parents. So watch the classic STREET LIFE, it's not about hope, it's about the money, drugs, sex, and alchol. That we like to call America...

Bobbing heads, masochism, and a view to kill.

Although the beginning is very confusing and very lackluster, this "Choose Your Own Adventure" Flash quickly develops into something more. If you can look past the practically unanimated graphics and extremely slow and incredibly linear playing, this game actually has many redeeming qualities.

For one, the art is fantastic. Everything is wonderfully hand-drawn, and some of the effects are nice, notably the club scene lighting. And although proper credit was not given to the creators of the sound, the vocals and effects are on the verge of mind-blowing, and are all-around entertaining.

However, there is little to no replay value, the characters never move, and it's unbearably linear, yet the first time through Street Life is quiet amazing. If you look at this as a game, you'll be dissappointed, but as an interactive movie, it suceeds as a wonderful piece of Flash. A must see!
