The second annual Clock Crew music video collaboration is here. With over 20 clocks, both new and old alike, participating, this video is sure to rock your socks off.

For this video we chose the song Stairway to Heaven by Led Zeppelin. The song was divided into 15 sections, and divided amongst the participating clocks. Some sections (2, 3, 7, 10, 13, 14, 15) have multiple versions, so the video will be slightly different each time you watch it.

Enjoy!

Animation/graphics: The animation quality in here is really varied considering these are the art styles of twenty different artists. The very first part in this collaboration with Tricky playing the guitar was remarkably badly done with choppy finger movement. I'd suggest that at least a smoothing of 40 would also make the line quality look nicer. I liked Mundai's piece with the detail such as the shading and how some of the color went outside of the lines. It stood out. A bunch of the others aren't too memorable, since they're composed of almost entirely motion tweens. The part with Avacado and the gun was my favorite, with really well-done animation and execution all around.

Story - There isn't a constant story in this, a bunch of clocks took the easy way and just animated what the lyrics said, some of them in a literal fashion. The other sequences are just random sequences synchronized to music - which isn't a bad thing, since most music videos are like that. I really don't like with the guitar solo that it was just a bunch of clocks playing guitar, it was really unimaginative seeing as that part of the song would go very well with something that actually had a plot and could be very enjoyable to watch.

Sound - One of my all-time favorite songs. Too bad that the file size limit at the time forced the song to be heavily compressed.

4/5
