Updated 8/27 3:00am - Aside from the previous update, I tightened the controls a hair more, showed an enemy counter for the bosses, and put a 'sort of' ending to it.

Megaman Next 2- Prologue Story

Well here's the actual game the story I uploaded refered to. It's still probably a little rough in certain areas like the Intro to the original was, but it's definitely a work of art to see Flash accomplish this little bit. However, please keep in mind I didn't want it to be similar to past Megaman games and it follows the plot that my comic takes. So please don't compare it to other Megaman games because it's not trying to be like one (It's like comparing apples to oranges). This stage is also to get feedback so I know what needs tweaking as I move onto Level 1 of it. If it seems to run to slow for everyone I can still raise the FPS and/or reduce the resolution to help.
As always if you enjoy it, let me know via email/review/ or $$$ (Money talks just as well as words :D ). If you don't enjoy this then let me know why as best you can. Just saying something like "It sucks" is a waste of NG space and my time. And worse yet is if you contradict anything I've said in the comments here, instructions, or information sections... I will not be happy having to re-explain myself and show you the errors of your ways >:|

If you don't feel like reading the instructions then here's the real quick summary of them.
A, S, D = action buttons.
Arrow keys move. Double tap Left and/or Right to Run
Up Jumps, hold it down to go higher.
Space = Fires Megabuster When you have 30+ charge accumulated.

I'd love to have as much feedback as possible, but please leave legit reviews. If you have technical problems (aside from Hardware limitations) with playing, send me an EMAIL before voting or reviewing. I hope this lives up to the quota like the first one in it's own unique way.

this game was cool, kept me fun for a while...but.. was that megaman!?! I hope you change him in the next..

Sorry, for this game that's how he's gonna look. In my comic I bounce back and forth between 8bit, drawn, and rendered so my projects tend to as well. If you wonder why he looks the way he does check the MMN2 Prologue or beat the first MMN.

Pretty Good

So far it's shaping up to be a great game. I'll break this down to make it easier:

Graphics: I gave it a 7 because from what i can tell it's still a bit choppy. Don't know, might have been my comp acting up. I like Megaman's new look, though. How'd you make the sprites for him?

Sound: 6 because it was only a single song playing over and over again. Not bad, considering that the original Megaman's had the same music rerunning endlessly in the levels, but a bit of variety here would be great. Sound effects for the blaster is pretty good too.

Interactivity: 10 because of the new controls. Looking good!

Style: 9 because even this early it's looking pretty polished and is shaping up to be a great game.

Violence: 7 simply because it's a Megaman game. Enough violence to keep any hardcore gamer going for a bit, but no blood or anything too gorey to make it unplayable by a younger audience.

Humor: nothing there because I haven't seen the storyline for the game yet (hopefully there will be one. I'd like to see a bit of character development in a Megaman game for once).

Overall: 8. Looking great so far! Keep it up!

one word: GRAPHICS!

THOSE GRAPHICS, HOLY CRAP!!! I have never seen anything so impressive in all my life, it like something on the new gaming systems!
I wished the punch and kick where much faster, but this is flash, not somthing you put on a disk(except the graphics). If it possible, help the speed area.

I can get it to go faster, but it's at the cost of resolution for the most part :( In the next few days here there will be another game out, it should suit you better for fast gameplay.

That was possibly the best Megaman game I've played on here. I love the realistic approach you've taken. This would be perfect if not for a few things.
First, it's a little choppy and slow. I'm not sure how easy it is to address that, but it'd help. Otherwise, the animation is amazing, and the character models are better than most of the sprites from the Playstation MM games. Only other problem is that this is in desperate need of sound effects. The BGM is good, but sound effects would be awesome.
This is apparently the into level, and it's a very solid one at that. Try to touch up on the things I've said, but if you can't, it's still fun. I'm looking foward to more.

Also, when you're done with this series, how about trying to do the same thing to MM X? I always liked that series better : )

I'm working on the SFX code (it was giving me errors so I left it out). I'm going to adjust the FPS, Resolution, and Quality to increase performance. Nothing to hard to do. I just don't to compress it to much so that the graphic detail is lost.
The Megaman Next game is kinda like plot developement for Megaman before he ends up in my comic Rick's Adventure (This game was originally going to have Rick in it, but I switched to Mega to appease those who wanted a sequel). Once X becomes active in the comic, he'll probably get some spotlight time. Once I go back to work on the comic there are going to be several playable single stages featuring Mega, Rick, Protoman, X, Zero, and Cloud. Whew, I accidently ran on :(
