Updated 8/27 3:00am - Aside from the previous update, I tightened the controls a hair more, showed an enemy counter for the bosses, and put a 'sort of' ending to it.

Megaman Next 2- Prologue Story
http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view.php?id=117797

Well here's the actual game the story I uploaded refered to. It's still probably a little rough in certain areas like the Intro to the original was, but it's definitely a work of art to see Flash accomplish this little bit. However, please keep in mind I didn't want it to be similar to past Megaman games and it follows the plot that my comic takes. So please don't compare it to other Megaman games because it's not trying to be like one (It's like comparing apples to oranges). This stage is also to get feedback so I know what needs tweaking as I move onto Level 1 of it. If it seems to run to slow for everyone I can still raise the FPS and/or reduce the resolution to help.
As always if you enjoy it, let me know via email/review/ or $$$ (Money talks just as well as words :D ). If you don't enjoy this then let me know why as best you can. Just saying something like "It sucks" is a waste of NG space and my time. And worse yet is if you contradict anything I've said in the comments here, instructions, or information sections... I will not be happy having to re-explain myself and show you the errors of your ways >:|

If you don't feel like reading the instructions then here's the real quick summary of them.
A, S, D = action buttons.
Arrow keys move. Double tap Left and/or Right to Run
Up Jumps, hold it down to go higher.
Space = Fires Megabuster When you have 30+ charge accumulated.

I'd love to have as much feedback as possible, but please leave legit reviews. If you have technical problems (aside from Hardware limitations) with playing, send me an EMAIL before voting or reviewing. I hope this lives up to the quota like the first one in it's own unique way.

Thanks again, and yet another happy 15th to Capcom's Smurf.

Pretty good.

This isn't really what I expected, and it's not really my type of game, but the gameplay and graphics are pretty well done, and this is an enjoyable game. I wouldn't mind playing more, unlike that jack ass gangsta_0024. And by the way gangsta, if you are reading this, don't even bother to click that review button there, thats for REVIEWS, not your shit comments.

The long awaited

The long awaited Megaman Next 2. Not quite what I was expecting but I'm sure you have heard that before. The graphics were flat out amazing and the gameplay was quite good as well. But Megaman is a robot and to my knowledge robots don't grow...but hey maby I'm wrong. Controls were good but I think the Megabuster charging should be done differently, maybe have it charge slowly over time or go back to ways of the original Megaman games and have to hold your buster to make it charge(and I know you aren't trying to make this just like Megaman but still). And I gave up on the bosses after a while cause they just kept coming back and I didn't feel like killing them over and over again, I think you should make em tougher instead of reincarnating over and over again. But a great new look on Megaman all the same. Well that just some thoughts by me. I'll be looking out for the next stage. Keep up the good work.

maelstormm responds:

Megaman didn't actually grow, I was using figurative speech (Though if a designer worked it correctly a machine could technically grow using a system of nanomachines that should be running around by 2040). Why he is the way he is is covered (alot of is's there) at the end of the first game and in the Prologue for this one. <<See the links up top or in the game>>
Sorry about the buster thing, I'm just not a fan of the hold down the shoot button, I like autofire :(
For the bosses (20 of'm) The problem with simply making them tougher is that you can just corner them and kick or sweep them into oblivion so that'd greatly decrease the challenge of them so by making them send more, you have to at least reposition yourself somewhat. That was my logic when approaching them, don't know if that shines any light on it.
Thanks for the feedback :)

this game was cool, kept me fun for a while...but.. was that megaman!?! I hope you change him in the next..

maelstormm responds:

Sorry, for this game that's how he's gonna look. In my comic I bounce back and forth between 8bit, drawn, and rendered so my projects tend to as well. If you wonder why he looks the way he does check the MMN2 Prologue or beat the first MMN.
Thanks :)

Awesome

like i said on top, awesome. for humor i gave u a 9 cuz i kept on falling into the fire and trying to get back up lol. but i need to kno, do the bosses hav infinite lives? cuz i keep kicking them (it only takes 2 kicks for them to die) but they keep coming back. did u not finish that becuz its just an intro or...?

maelstormm responds:

You have to kill 20 GoonBots to get past that part. I'll be adding a counter shortly here to remedy that.
Thanks for the review :)

Pretty good

Well, hmmmm, I don't know what to say. It was pretty good, but venturing into the new territory can be risky, and the result now is, well, kind of bad. Maybe try better next time? Growing up? Lame excuse, he doesn't grow up, he learns, true, but he's a robot. I don't kile the new style maybe next time.

maelstormm responds:

Well, where to start here. It seems you forgot half the review. You say the end result is kinda bad, but you don't say 1 thing up there about how it's bad, save for your apparent preference for old school graphics which isn't actual mentioned but I'm just going to assume it's there.

Okay, now I'm going to have to rip you for saying "Lame excuse, he doesn't grow up, he learns, true, but he's a robot". The solution to this is called... READ THE DAMN PROLOGUE OR BEAT THE FIRST GAME. I put links to both of them in the comments and in the game, and yet you still somehow manage to completely miss the entire part about him being rebuilt, AND THAT'S why he looks more mature now. What you've done is the equivalent of walking into a movie that's half finished and blaming the author because you don't know why the main character can do such and such because it was explained in the first half. Do you homework before accusing me, kiddo.
