H.P. Lovecraft wrote books about otherworldly things and beings. The Cthulhu is supposed to be a horrible creature who's some sort of demi god. It was a plush, little girls were calling it cute, and the fancy hat; all of those were taking away from Lovecraft's intended meaning and he was banging his head on his coffin because the meaning of one of his characters was undermined. I guess I get it because I'm an English major, but come on people, giving it low because you're unaware of the background?
