"Not as good as the other Absaloms, but still great"

I definitely prefer the style of the previous two Absaloms, but this is still quite enjoyable. I am truly sorry that it appears the other sequels are not forthcoming, as even two years after these came out, they're still wonderful examples of great Flash RPGs.

"Great Game! Why Quit?"

I love the absalom series! I don't see why you would want to quit at all... A few more chapters... oh, and this new battle style... cool, but it can get a little annoying... "62% chance of hitting" but, at any rate, it is better than the last. Puts it a little above your normal RPG. And its nice that emma acknowledhes that they are being attacked.... keep it up man! wonderful game!

Why stop now when ur so good?!? I get annoyed of this game because u lose defence and damage and strike during attack! Now this is crap man I'm a fan! Why is this the last game ever and absalom's population is falling like light-speed! Like 2billion billion etc.etc.etc.etc.etc.etc. ) 0 chance of fans rasing again. 100 defence lost blah blah blah etc. etc. etc.

"Improvements and Backsliding ..."

Alright, first off I'd like to say what I *do* enjoy about this game ...
1) Much prefer the new "config" option - I hated not being able to see my entire hand before I linked certain cards to certain stats
2) Combat menu is much better than the first two Absalom games - although it really doesn't make sense for Marthane's "Heal" to be in the same place as "Retreat", etc.
3) Nice new style with the backgrounds

Now, places I think need improving on ...
1) Why does only the MVP get to gamble a card at the end of a battle? (would it not make more sense for the LVP?) Also, you should be allowed to pick which card is gambled, not just some random one ...
2) Ugh, the battle system sucks ... not only is the actual battle like watching tennis, but all those percentages running around making my head spin ...
3) Issues with stores: No inn, and the menu setup for the store blows chunks - you buy one potion at a time, and any more than that is a huge pain in the @$$
4) "Curse you, yellow dots for limiting my moves!" ^_^
5) This was submitted in 2002 - I think it's fairly obvious by now there won't be any more coming :'-(

Any possibility of getting the source for this and the two previous? Perhaps there is a chance to pass the torch ... my e-mail's in my profile ^_^

The first two games I felt I could not stop playing until I had beaten them. Then I played Dungeon. After losing a fight, I felt no desire to start over again. Why?

1. The movement system. I prefer the old one.
2. The combat system. It's become slower and more cumbersome, especially with the added factor of zero HP survival.
3. The lack of an inn.

This is not to say it's a total failure. I like the config option and the humorous vignettes when you talk to townsfolk, both improvements over the other games. I think you were trying to hard to improve it, however. Just keep those improvements on the old system when you make Chapter 3 and don't use the rest.

"Oh how I miss 1 and 2..."

Okay, it's still Absalom, but it's way different. I was so accustomed to the battle system of 1 and 2 that it took a long while to get the hang of and appreciate the battle system for 3 (even though this isn't really 3). I must say that compared to the original, I dislike the "yellow dot" method of transportation. It's tedious and repetitive, and I feel it actually detracts from enjoyment of the game. The fights are strange as well. It seems you've changed the attribute system as well. I honestly think you had a real winner on your hands with 1 and 2. I think you should save these upgrades for a completely seperate project and continue on in the style of the first two. I'm also concerned by the fact that you said you may not finish the series. This is very diappointing news because this is one of the best game series on Newgrounds. Another one bites the dust I suppose. Just throw it in the pile with all the other unfinished series here on NG. *sigh*
