"I think we all miss his submissions, quietjessica."

There's always been something special about the Kinsman games, what with that suit/card thing going on and the actual random battles. People liked the game because the core was solid, not really for the render quality or sound effects or music or even customization options. I did get kind of sad not being able to carry my overpowered characters from Absalom 2 over seeing as how they all had 60 defense after cards and took 2 turns and 0 damage on both final encounters.
That took me a good 3 hours to set up, because I spent all that time rigging every card they got as 6 or above, and all of the same character suit. I wouldn't have tried so hard if I didn't want to. I'm sure all of newgrounds would enjoy and honor a final Absalom game that is polished and as fun as the other 3 have been- with better graphics and attack animations, sound effects, perhaps a toggle for the music would save much sanity on our parts. It's great music, it just grates by hour 20.

"I miss your submissions."

A shame this is the last one.
The new battle system can get a bit tedious (He has 0 hit points! Why won't he die?) and I can't say I particularly like the new way to "walk." But it's enjoyable, even though it's not really a "chapter."

"KISMAN! You rock."

So, I spent the past few days viewing your games. And I must say, I am impressed at your innovations. The card/suit idea was a beautiful touch. I am a fan of originality and I have never seen anything quiet like that. Oddly enough, you just created a game that could be done with any deck of cards for those d&d fans. I love the new style, it isn't as animated as the old style, but I feel it adds lots of interaction to the game along with a feel for a map and direction. I love the new complexity you have added to the combat system. In every good game, 70% of every battle has been movement and 30% has been choosing what to use. This game is quiet a nice new addition to Newgrounds and I hope that you won't stop here. If I could suggest anything at all, I'd suggest the ability to change the music and sound volume. I don't hear any real sound effects and the music though lively, I don't care too much for it. I'd like to have my own music on the background with out the clashing.

Now a note for the other reviewers. I would like to just throw out there for people who are having problems with some of the bigger fights, to add more into defense. The fights may be a tad bit slower, but with Marthanne's ability to heal, a bit of defense on all your characters so that all strikes are less than half to strike and you can't lose. It may make the fights a bit drawn out, but this game is definatly about survival vs killing power.

"New battle system slow"

date: May 22, 2006

The new battle system seems really slow, and while the new gambling system is better (makes it harder to gamble what you want to), it's very restrictive. Movement system is better, but if they could move with the arrows also, that'd be neat.

"Why change what isn't broken?"

date: May 4, 2006

Though it was slow, the old movement method was much easier. Also, the battles are now long and drawn out, and good cards are too hard to get :( At the end it always asks me to gamble my best card :-\

Anyway, in an effort to make it better, you just made it overly complicated and slower. In my opinion. It's too bad though, I'd have liked to see an advancment to the original plot, it doesn't look like that will ever be happening.

"Nice Engine"

date: April 19, 2006

The good thing about this engine is that you can organize your cards before going into battle. However, when in battle, it was tedious to switch to an attack that you constantly use. I like how the movement system has changed, but Arrows to advance a step would be better than clicking on each individual space. Other than those suggestions the game is still pretty fun to play. I hope you do improve this game.
