"You did express yourself well"

date: July 12, 2008

This is exellant for you first animation and for music video, great. The whole piece is a good effort.

Graphics.7/10 The back and white is clever, and i was very impressed. By the movents on the singer ,it moved in time to the lyrics. The looks is quite basic but i thought, the way you drew, them was sweet and appealing.

Sound.8/10 The song sounded great and memorable ,i liked the help me words at the end. The use of options to have subtitles is great, i liked the subtitles well. The look of him singing, sound good on the whole the sound is very good.

This is a good music video fun and the people, looked sweet and appealing which is a plus. The lip syching is great to the words, on the whole.

Somtimes he did not seem to sing in time, with the words and the scenes did repeat themselves. I liked the no colors, but maybe some color would have been nice.

Overeall a good music video to the Beatles hit.

"You'll get there!"

This is a great first attempt at a movie and you can't really go wrong with the technique of a music video - the music is there, you just concentrate on expressing yourself as an individual.

Expressing yourself is exactly why I'm not going to lay into you for going black and white. Leave it as it is, it's a good look at the tune itself. I would suggest that you spend some time looking at the lip-sync aspects - try singing the parts that you are going to lip sync in front of a mirror, so you can see how your own mouth forms the words.

I'm not exactly sure about the cupping of the hands around the mouths of the lean ins in the middle - I am aware of the shout for help might require cupped hands, but the rest is backing singing.

I'd also tell that you're not a guitar player - you had the guitarist's hands going the wrong way up and down the neck of the guitar. Up the neck (screen left) for lower notes, down the neck (screen right) for higher notes ;)

I'm looking forward to your next piece.

"First Submission eh?"

date: July 10, 2008

A very great first submission if I do say so myself. Although I've never listened the to Beatles :/ I really liked how you made this music video. The animation was pretty good. I liked how you could listen with or without subtitles. The music was nice and clear, too. Great job man.

Suggestions: The "spatla hands" kinda started annoying me a little. Maybe you could draw a very basic hand instead. And if you could include some form of color, whether it be background or clothes, in your next flashes that would be kool, too.

P.S. I'm learning flash too and my first won't be that great :/

"Good Start"

date: July 10, 2008

Well it's a good start, I will say that but it is lacking quite a bit too, the idea and the base for everything is there, which is good, though you might want his arms to be at his side when he's not using them as oppost to being at an angle. Much of the animation is pretty okay, some parts could be better but nothing too bad in that sense and the music is easy to hear.

I would suggest having some backgrounds and even colour or just have shades of black/grey/white if you want to do it that way. Like I say, it's a start and it seems like there is a base here, but you could do so much more to make it look better. The subtitles are okay but they could be improved too, just have a grey bar along the bottom at something like 50% Opacity and put the text over that.

"I Like :)"

date: July 9, 2008

This was pretty neat. I've always wanted to take a song I love and turn it into a music video in flash, I really like the idea.
The graphics were very simple, but that's not a bad thing. I think it looked better with the simplistic, black and white look, opposed to being really fancy. It compliments the classic-ness of the song quite well.
The fact that you repeated the scenes in your movie made sense because the song obviously repeats. (As most songs do). :P But another idea would be to make it more of a story that progresses throughout the course of the song to a conclusion.
My only criticism for this is the animation of the mouth could have been a little better. The option of subtitles was a good idea, but since the character is singing along with the song, I'd think it important to make sure it looks like he's forming the exact words that are being sung.
Overall it is a good idea, though, I enjoyed watching.

"Very cool"

by: Shanus
date: July 9, 2008

A very nice music video, great look and a very good first submission.

The graphics weren't anything special but they were consistent and I did like the classic look of the black and white figures. And I really like how you told the story quite well.

I really love that song and the Beatles in general. And you synched it in quite well with the animation, a great job all in all.

Overall it was quite cute, and simple. But an excellent music video, and would make a fine addition to the music video page. Great job

"Classic!"

date: July 8, 2008

This was nice, good little music video and ill defo recommend it for the music video collection on Newgrounds. As its good enough to be in there. I liked the song chosen, a classic. And i love the Beatles. :D

Graphically i thought it was great! I loved the simple style put to it, simple black and white line drawings on a plain white background gave it a simple yet sophisticated look and it did look great! Well done with that. The character looked cool too. :P
The animation was really smooth and consistant throughout the whole thing, so that was great, and the sound quality of the song was good too.

The only bad thing i thought was that the subtitles ran over and started again at the end of the song. Also why were the choices at the beginning in French?! :P
Overall though it was great! You have your own style which is very cool!

A very nice song you chose to animate here.
I think you've done a very good job, even though I wished you had added a bit more scenes to it, but it is still a good flash.

The animations could be a bit smoother overall, and I think a bit more colour would have been nice. But it's ok in bacl and white, too. ;)

I noticed that the subtitles began to show the first verse again, after the song was over (ie the credits ran and the subtitles showed the line "when I was younger so much younger than today"). You may want to change that. ;)

"Pretty good."

by: Fro
date: July 8, 2008

Animation / Graphics - I understand that you were going for that simple black and white style, so I won't say anything like you should of added colors. I actually think that colors would of made the movie just a bit worse in my opinion. What would of really made this movie good though is if the drawings would of been done a bit better. They seemed rough at best, but if they were improved I could also see your score greatly improved.

Story - It's always nice to see music put with animation. I enjoy watching music videos like this sometimes and it wasn't boring or anything. Good job.

Audio - How do you rate audio on a music video? Ha, I guess you rate it on how well it ran with the animation. I thought it was pretty smooth with the animation, but like said before the animation was rough at times so that could improve how the audio ran with the flash.

Overall, a nice music video which could be improved a little.
