date: November 21, 2007

i loved the first chapter, and this one is even better, but the hero team is way too hard, could u , oh, i dont no, maybe, make them a little weaker? plz?plz??plz?!?!?PLEASE, IM BEGGING YOU!!!!!!!!!but anyway, it was good

Author's Response:

I hate that attitude...
"This is too hard! Instead of getting better myself, make it easier!"
Rather than taking the effort to improve themselves, most people would rather just complain and try to make the world change around them so they just don't have to try.
And this doesn't just apply to playing games, of course...

The Saviours aren't very difficult if you know what you're doing, anyway.

"if i could give it more than a 10..."

date: November 9, 2007

well i would :D

this series has to be the best flash RPG series on Newgrounds! story is great and and the humor is hilarious!

what a twist towards the end but very very fitting. i love the reaction feature, is that your own invention? coz if it is you should make this a console game or something and copyright that deature :) i know i'd buy it :D

i loved the humor, especially how people knew things they shouldnt. it reminds me of Legend of Zelda: Links awakening which had a similar feature in it.

another thing i liked (yes theres alot) is something that may or may not be a bug, but its a nice feature. i noticed that enemys can, on rare occations level up mid battle like you can. i first noticed it when i was leaving the sewers to heal and go back down to the catacombs, i got in a fight with a few fumerats and one smacked me and leveled up lol. i'm lucky it was only a fumerat coz i was low on health and supplies :D if at all possible keep that in because it's intresting to not know when that will happen so it requires a bit of stratagy.

btw: second place on the highscores! wooooot! only 2k points behind the first place guy to, i'm pretty proud of that. thank you explore-everything-and-do-everything-
i-possibly-can mindset lol

Best series ever, no doubt about it. keep up the great work man. i can not wait for the next chapter.

Author's Response:

Monsters levelling up isn't a bug; if the people you can play as can level up, then why not monsters? You're all living beings, after all! o_O

"Best Adventure Game on the site"

date: November 16, 2007

Excellent, excellent achievement. I played through Ch. 1 and was impressed then, but had no Idea that you would follow it up with something this large in scale. I can see how this took so long. I played through Ch1 again after I finished it just to refresh my memory, and I definitely like the direction you are taking the series. The next chapter could be 3/4 the length and I still think that everyone would be satisfied. To those who complain about not being able to beat a section of the game, have some patience, go practice in other areas, and you can always use Mardek's warp ability to get out of a dungeon, heal, but potions, and go back for more. For those who don't appreciate the humour, you're taking it way too seriously, lighten up. Since so many people are voicing their opinion on how they would do it better, and since you seem so apt to respond, here are just a couple of things that I noticed. Not real problems, or anything to really worry about, but things that would be nice.

-Personally, I would like it if the inventory was shared between all party members. I'm sure that that was just a design choice on your part, but it would be nice to have items still available if someone dies.

-Alot of times, it was difficult to tell which Items allowed special abilities. Not at all with the staffs, but especially with the swords and pendants. I ended up losing all of Vehrn's reactions, just because I sold the copper sword (or maybe it was because I equipped different armour) and didn't know what it allowed.

-Gold drops were unevenly spaced, with hardly any at the beginning, and so much that it was useless towards the end.

Really those are the only issues that I had. Everything else was top notch, and of professional quality. I just hope that Ch. 3 will be out soon. All I am left with are questions that I will have to troll the comments for and play through again for.

-Where are the other trilobite keys?!?! I've only found #1, I've only heard rumours of #3, and I've found every chest on every map

-Is there any way to get into the water temple, or is that saved for the next chapter?

November 16, 2007

Author's Response:

Having separate inventories for each person adds an element of strategy or something; you have to plan who will have what items, sort of like having a list of possible abilities that you can assign to anyone but not everyone... or something? Its meant to make you think a bit more and add challenge as well as customisation to some degree, or something.

In the inventory, if you roll over an item with the A key held down, you can see which abilities can be learned from it.

Gold is like that in MOST RPGs, I've noticed...

There's a lot of discussion about the Trilobite Keys in my forum (the link is mentioned in the description section thing for this game here), so look there if you want to know things!

The water temple isn't accessible in this chapter, no; it will feature in later chapters!

"Good, but stuck."

date: May 27, 2008

Its very good, good storyline, good characters, i enjoy the humour. Ive got stuck though trying to find the shaman. Ive looked all over the woods, even in his house and i still cant find him. Can anyone help? Also to get underwater, go on skills, press right to Emela, and then choose action, then choose aqualung and use it on all your party.
