The Mardek RPG without a doubt is one of my absolute favorite flash-based games on the web. It's graphics are beautifully made with a soundtrack to match. The storyline is rich and captivating with a highly enjoyable underlaying satire on the RPG genre. Battles are done in the same turn-biased layout that has come to be identified with RPGs, but the Reaction abilities add nice touch that helps to keep players from slacking off.
However, the are some drawbacks of course, for instance, the ability mastery feature can become confusing for first timers that may upgrade gear before abilities are mastered then start to wonder why they can't use them anymore. A little more clarity on this would be much appreciated by the newbies I'm sure.
But the biggest issue that concerns me is what seems to be an EXTREMELY irritating bug with the Save options. Sometimes I will save several games only to then have the save game menu say "Create the saveslot 1?" Even though I already have saved games! While this doesn't sound bad, it also DELETES all other saved games, and the new saved game can't be loaded and I have to start over from the beginning! And it's happened to me twice! (plus clicking cancel doesn't work when this happens)
One possible reason for this may because if your internet becomes Disconnected it bugs up the save options somehow, but have haven't been able to validate that.
But other than that Mardek Rpg: Chapter 2 is a must-play for all flash game enthusiast out there!

Author's Response:
The save bug thing is a bizarre quirk of Flash Player 10, it seems, and I've been aware of it for ages but I've been unable to fix it since I don't have easy access to the source files that are free of chapter 3 content (I, uh, overwrote them, y'see).
It worked fine with Flash Player 9, and it's extremely annoying to me how something in the player itself changed to make such a critical feature of my game stop working...
It works fine in Chapter 3 though. Or will when it's out, which will hopefully be soon...
