"A couple of large glitches but still a solid game"

There are a couple of very big glitches- one with the second boss (i found hitting play started the fight anyways but the mushrooms in the fight did nothing and when i won it started the fight over again >.>) And during the first boss if you did it right you could get behind the walls and stand behind where his arms could get you shooting him like crazy and jumping when the spikes came making him uber easy i think if you can fix these i might come back and finish up the storyline mode :) i really think you should fix it and also when i bought the rocket launcher i just had the normal gun when i started the level that REALLY bugged me.

The good things: I liked the way you shoot, the shopping idea and the little rock monsters. The graphic was also very well.

The bad thing: The cactus monster couldn't die.

I give you 5/5 in vote, and 8/10 here.

Thanks for the review :) The cactus monster could only die if you hit his arms when they fly out of the shield. That was the trick. I'm in the process of making another game, probably a shooting game like this. Thanks for voting as well.

"Fun"

Dear artist. The Good: cool music which is actully one of my favs. And the weapons were cool. The Improve: You could improve the grapics and there are some glicthes. Still cool game.

Thanks for the review. I'm glad you liked the music because that made a big part of the scene. You should check out the other music from the artists. I will improve the graphics next time and will thoroughly check through the game for any glitches.

The good parts: I think the graphics were okay. The background looked pretty good (especially the sky in the desert level) and the things on the foreground looked alright too. Also, it´s very nice that this game has a save option. I didn´t have to start over from the beginning now in case I got stuck or anything, that was good. What kind of suprised me in a positive way was that I found very few bugs. I expected a lot of things wouldn´t work properly, but this wasn´t the case.

The bad parts: I didn´t found my bugs like I just said. But sadly I found one very big one. I got stuck in the story mody at the second boss :( During the conversation the screen suddenly turned black, the music kept playing and nothing else happened. I reloaded my game, tried for a second time and again the screen turned black. You should take a look at this. Also, I think you might get stuck if you don´t have any ammo in a stage where you have to kill all enemies or destroy some of those platforms. It didn´t happen to me, luckily, but it would be a shame if you have to quit your game for that. You should allow us to go back to the shop or make the handgun have unlimited ammo. Another bad point was that the normal enemies were way too easy to defeat. Those rocks and mushrooms only moved up and down and from the right the left a little, they didn´t seem to be attacking or anything. I was hit only once by them and my only concern in the game was my ammo amount. So try to make the enemies stronger.

Overall 7 out of 10, 3 out of 5. I think it was quite an enjoyable game, but it could still use some improvement. I hope you can fix that stuff at level 2´s boss, cause it kinda ruined the game for me :(

Thanks for the reveiw. I'm glad you liked the background because I spent a lot time making the backgrounds look good. I added the save feature as I didn't in my other games and wanted to test it out and it works fine and is good feature.

The bug that you found on the second boss conversation, I am not sure what caused it, I checked my code in the fla but still can't find the error. I will look into it and try to fix it and make sure that this doesn't happen with any of my other games.

I included the limited ammo because I just didn't want the player to just shoot at things carelessly so if he/she didn't have any ammo left, it's their fault completely but I guess I could add go back to shop or something like that. I will improve the enemies next time.

^^Good Points^^
Definitely a pretty good job on one of your first games. The graphics were pretty refreshing, and made the game more playable. It reminded me of the desert level of SMB3 for obvious reasons. Simple gameplay, and not too many bugs, though I will mention some below. Keep working on it!

^^Needs Improving^^
First off, jumping was a little strange, when next to a low platform. Sometimes, I guess your foot hits a low platform, stopping you, which is just annoying. Also, I found that you can fall through vertically stretched platforms. Not sure if you meant for this, but it seems more like a bug to me. One more thing: you may want to consider using WASD rather than the arrow keys, as it is just easier when using the mouse.

Thanks for your review. There are some little bugs like the jumping which I will improve for my next game. I never intended the user to walk on the vertical platform as I wanted the person to fall or jump over it. I will consider using the WASD keys next time and will try to let the user pick which keys, he/she wants to use.

"Not bad"

The plot is a little linear, as with most platform games, sadly. I'd like to see better graphics and also an easier way around the first boss - break the player in gently, with a first boss that has an easy way around, then crank it up on the second one.

I have no idea what those bad guy things were, they looked kind of like ambient turds, wandering around the place. I'd reccomend that you get more different kinds of enemies, which act differently. It looks like you've borrowed a bit from Super Mario and Sonic - the two classic platform games. Look at their different arrays of enemies and work from that.

The drawing style will improve as you go on, so I look forward to seeing your next submission.

Thanks for the review. The plot, I thought, was original but simple and in my next game I could amke a plot a bit more interesting. The graphics, I thought were good but I guess I still need to improve my drawings :) I wanted to make the first boss hard so that the player wants to play it again, to beat him but I see where you are coming from.

The bad guys in the first part of the game were rocks that you could find in the desert. Later on in the game, there are other types of enemies, who can be seen on the main menu and instructions. I will take your opinion into mind and add more variety of enemies in my next game.

This game had some nice potential. You really coded it well, there were many features that made the game enjoyable.

The reason I feel the score is at a low is because of the visuals. While they were slightly above par they could do with a lot of work. The environments are plain and repetitive as well, try and spice it up a bit.

Also, the speed of the animation was boringly slow. It really got me off the game.

If you can make it a little faster, and fix the visuals all around... then you will be looking possibly at a score of 3.8+

Thanks for the review and kind comments. I thought the visuals were quite good but I guess I need to change them a bit and make them less repetitive. I understand the animation was a bit slow so I will make my next game faster. Thanks again!

6/10 for the effort. No offence but the gameplay sucks - it's too slow and the hitTset is a problem; 2nd - improve your graphics and change the characters!

"Pretty good"

-Good-
The story for this was pretty good. The idea was interesting. The graphics were alright. The characters walk cycle sorta looked like he was limping alittle. I thought that the background you used was realy great, but I didn't like that you overused it in every level. The gameplay worked, but could have been better.

-Bad-
I thought the game was slow. You character could have moved faster and the ability to double jump would have been helpful. I didn't like how the enemys had different alpha levels as you shot them, it didn't make that much sence.

-Overall-
A well done game, but could have been better.

Thanks for your review and the comments.

The walk cycle was a bit irregualr due to the lag of the game, the background changes after every boss that is defeated but I can see where you are coming from.

I realise that it was a bit slow, which I will improve for the next game, this help the character move faster as well. The double jump was one that I thought of but in the end, I didn't want to include it. The alpha levels were an effect that I liked but seeing as many people think a different effect would be better, I will work on it.
