"Not bad, but lots of room for improvement"

Rather old game, quite simple too, not bad at all for a first zombie defense game.
Okay, I understand you want to capture the feel of a real zombie situation where you will be low on supplies and all, but honestly, I see absolutely no problem in adding just a bit more variety on the semi-automatic weapons (ie: manual shotgun). Or at the very least, make the player able to choose which ONE weapon to stick to for the rest of the game - it'd add to the replay value.
I found the game to be too repetitive and needs an option for higher difficulty. Performing headshots is very easy, especially since the zombies are so slow (even the dogs). Once I get all the upgrades, there wouldn't be anything interesting except for the headless zombie, and it's very easy to keep my defenses strong. I only need to use 2 grenades and just keep my mines and barbed wires in good condition.
Why not add new zombies like ranged zombies to increase the challenge? Perhaps ranged zombies will shoot a slow-moving projectile and if you get hit, it's basically game-over, but you could shoot the projectile before it reaches you. Or you could add bosses and a difficulty that has LIMITED ammo. Limit the firing rate of the weapon too.
I like the reload system. If there was a convenient 'R' to reload, it would make the rifle too easy to reload and allow users to just shoot and spam 'R' at the same time, effectively creating a spam weapon with infinite ammo. However, if you choose to make a sequel with an 'R' to reload system, I'd suggest making a reload animation so as to prevent players from spamming 'R' and shoot, or use the limited firing rate or limited ammo as I have suggested earlier.
Graphics-wise, it also could be better, but it doesn't really matter to me.
I hope to see a sequel. I like zombie games very much, and this isn't that bad for a first, though there is a lot of room for improvement.
