Being constrained to a path way gets boring fast and the upgrades had no singinificant visual impact. Nice idea though, but maybe you should rethink the general gameplay. Plus they game begins to lag more as you play - but maybe its my stupid comp.

"Good game..."

date: June 17, 2007

Its a nice game, but as its already been said, it would really help to have arrow or WASD controls. I also think you should've put more levels into it because of difficulty, the difficulty jump from level 3 to level 4 was way too big.

something is so unbalanced in stage 4. You have two guards flanking you from either side and turrets firing at you in front. Now, that's fine if you have separate controls for movement and shooting. Your players might find it too frustrating to dodge AND aim-shoot at the same time because shooting makes the avatar move and therefore renders dodging inefficient. I'm not saying it's impossible but it gets really frustrating sometimes.

Find a thesaurus, dude.

Anyhow, this could be a really cool game, but as it is right now, I'm not really feeling it. Don't get me wrong; it's fantastic work compared to most Newgrounds content, but it's not living up to what it should be. Not to mention that the games and series that their authors let trickle out like this usually end up never being completed. Don't be one of those people. If you don't follow this all the way through, you shouldn't have released anything at all.

The track movement is a bit irksome and limiting (duh), but that's your gameplay choice, and it would be far too much work to do away with it at this point. The main problem with it, really, is that it doesn't feel very intuitive. It would go a long way towards remedying that if it was more directly responsive to your mouse movement.

Next: People love ridiculously complex upgrade systems. That you have one at all is a good thing, but it's too simple the way it is right now. It doesn't have to all be literal and upfront, either... Lighter armor at the expense of defense to improve speed, heavier armor at the expense of speed to improve defense, different materials that will affect your weapon stats like range and damage, or grips that would affect both range and fire rate. Quivers, hilts, bags and whatnot that determine how many of a weapon you can carry, and ways to switch between them at And collecting all your gold at the end of a level... meh. Level bonuses are fine, but you could perhaps collect gold or experience or what have you with every enemy defeated, based on how far away they were. Just tossing out suggestions. Make of them what you will.

This is a very ambitious project, and I hope you intend to see it through. Cheers!

"Awesome game, could use minor improvements."

date: March 2, 2007

I this is a really good game. And I hope the sequel(s) get even better. The story is interesting, the art looks great. I do have two problems though. I don't like Teller's face during speech, it looks odd for some reason. It doesn't taek away from the game play though. My biggest concern is the lack of mobility. The first level is great, you have a full circle of movement, but the next few are just killers because you can only go so fast in a straight line.

"Not Bad"

It wasn't a bad game, it kept me occupied for five or ten minutes. The easiest way to beat the AI was to just go on the opposite side of the track from the thing you were shooting(for example, if you are shooting the right turret, go to the far left of the track), then click on it as fast as you could and don't take the mouse off, and you'll dodge the attacks as well as damage whatever you're attacking.

"This game was pretty damn good."

date: March 3, 2007

Not surprising that I couldn't beat it but I got close so this rating is based on the levels I completed, which unless you snuck a complete new system of play in later, stands firm. Overall great game, I liked the graphics and storyline (to a degree) other than that the movement system might need work.
