"I love it when they wear that stuff"

date: March 3, 2007

The one and only thing I didn't like was the repetitive throwing sound.

"great game couple things though....."

date: March 2, 2007

It was a great game. Everything went well. The fourth level wasn't as hard as you made it seem but it was difficult. However, i think you should split your controls. You should make arrows keys your movement and the mouse to shoot. I found it difficult and often found it stressful to move.

"Glitchtastic."

date: March 1, 2007

All I see is a screen the blinks in and out that says: "Thank you for playing the first part in the Battlemachy Saga." Or something to that effect. I didn't even get to play it!

"Welcome to Lagsville. Population, you."

This is a great looking and sounding demo, and the full game has a lot of promise. I very much like the audio/visual style overall (especially little touches like the musical resolve as the stats screen appears after a game.) That sort of attention to details gives a real feel of professionalism.

So why is there so much lag? In the first play through, it runs smooth as silk, but the more you play it, the slower it gets. It makes no sense, as the same amount of enemies are onscreen at once as the previous rounds. By round five or six it was basically unplayable.

While the controls and gameplay is pretty simple, the presentation could make the finished product quite great. But the lag problem (if it is also apparent in the full version) really needs to be addressed.

"Not another Demo!"

date: March 1, 2007

Look, don't people get it, demos are frowned upon by just about all of NG! It's good for a demo, just, hurry up with submitting the whole thing! I'm becoming impatient!

"Very very good - for a demo, that is"

date: March 1, 2007

Fun game, and I can really see the potential for it to get a lot better. Nice graphics and sound, good implementation of a track-based shooter.
Awesome scoring system too, that doesn't over-emphasize any particular objective (time, accuracy, etc.)
A few quibbles though -
1) Too easy. The hitpoint upgrade was meaningless since I never got hit.
2) I hope the whole game isn't just on a circular track. Different style levels would be great. Also, you might want to consider using arrow keys for movement if the tracks get more complecated, although on the circular track the mouse movement was nice and intuitive.
3) The powerups weren't as noticable as they ought to be. There needs to be a bigger gap between the highest and lowest levels.
4) Weapon imbalance - the scimitar is obviously the best weapon by far. Daggers and Chakrum both get accuracy penalties due to fireing multiple shots per click, only one or two of which will probably hit. Also, chakrum, while awesome looking, is the only weapon that doesn't kill in one hit. Javelin is the only weapon that can't kill/damage more than one enemy per shot. With scimitar's ability to kill two per shot, I got an accuracy rating of 105% one time.

This game looks really promising and I had a blast playing it. I hope you tweak it into the best flash shooter ever!
